Good service and high quality food

Alsur Cafe is a pretty big place, both inside and outside. For food, I'd recommend the mini-hamburgers or the quinoa salad which is stuffed with veggies and nuts. They have a pretty large menu 'para picar', small dishes that are excellent to share with your table. Service generally is great too... read more

Really smart place, excellent service and good drink selection. Wish we'd found it earlier in the trip. Went back the next night and the staff remembered us which was a lovely touch.

I went here yesterday for the first time with one of my friends after we had gone to another cafe to do work where the wifi wasn't really on par. The bravas were okay, but the atmosphere here is awesome and the wifi is on point. Definitely will be coming back here.

We stumbled across this address. It's got a huge terrace, perfect ideal location. The concept is great!! Amazing choice of food but in my opinion it's all about the coffee and the AMAZING cakes! They even have red velvet!! The staff are really friendly and warm. It you need a spot for laptop working this is THE space. Many locals... More

Great spot for cocktails and small bites before the show. Top notch bartending. Can't beat the convenient location.

Came to rest after visiting Picasso museum. Try their latte and passion food ice tea which is good and refreshing. Try their fry and their Alsur chargrilled beef which I like most. Also not forgetting their toasted French loaf with tomato Average price per person: €15-20 They have English menu and their staff are very friendly and approachable.

Down to earth and relaxed atmosphere, friendly service, great value of what you pay. Patas Braves are the best. Went there 3 times

Try the cracked eggs for brunch (I think it is a Catalan or Spanish specialty)--they mix up the eggs, potato and meat then pierce the yolks and let them run over everything and solidify slightly. My description doesn't do it justice it is very tasty and filling. Be warned they only open at 10 or 11 am depending on the... More

We stumbled across this little cafe and found it very cosy, friendly and welcoming with some lovely dishes on the menu. Staff were prompt and efficient and in particular our server Santi was great. My only criticism is that we each ordered two dishes each off the menu and I was still waiting for my first dish while the rest... More

Perfect place in central Barcelona for an afternoon coffee and cake break. Relaxed atmosphere, staff are attentive but don't rush you. (we were served by Santi who was very friendly) Good place to study or read as well as have a catch up with your friend. (and the red velvet cake was amazing)

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighborhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
