My go to place for steaks in Barcelona

I have been here many times, as I live just around the corner. Diego and his crew are running a great steak restaurant with a better price/quality ratio than the other Argentinians. The quality of meat is up there with the best, the only small thing to change, is to improve the wine list.

My wife and I wanted to get away and enjoy a night in Barcelona without our kids along, and selected Parilla Alfonsina at the last minute mainly because we could book it on TripAdvisor at a time that was convenient for us. We both came away supremely impressed with what we got for what we spent. The bread rolls were... More

The restaurant comes highly rated on TripAdviser, so my expectations were high. We ordered the grill mix based on the waiters recommendation. Unfortunately I get the impression that this is the dish they use to get rid of scrap meat. The best cut we got was tasty and tender. The chef had not bothered to cut away the silver skin/sinew... We had empanadas and pizza that were really good, the staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. :)

We ate here three times during our 5day stay in Barcelona. The owner is a lovely woman who even sang to our table one evening. Delicious empanadas and homemade deserts. Steaks were tender and tasty.

The waiters were super, and the food was excellent. We had ribeye and tournedot. Both fantastic - melted in our mouths. If you like meat - go there!

Off the beaten track, this Argentinian restaurant couples good steaks with a good selection of wines. The bread was also great, but we did not have any space left for dessert at the end, given also the late hour. Good service and nice atmosphere.

We came over for dinner and had a very nice meal! The menu is a little expensive but worth it. When we sat down we got a nice hot bun and loved it. Sadly the service was average but there was a Great atmosphere of the Argentine kitchen. Worth the visit!

I've been here based on the recommendation from a friend who visited Barcelona a while back. It was a wonderful experience. We had some nice starters and then ordered the steak. I had no idea what to get so the waiter brought me a tray and walked me through all the types of meat from which you can get a... More

We had poor service. Our waiter paid very little attention to us & was generally not pleasant. The other waiter came over to help us multiple times when our waiter disappeared. Food was good but very salty. We tried meat & ham-cheese empanadas. The ham-cheese one was not fully reheated. My salad was very good, containing the fresh burrata cheese... More

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
