We had Mojitos outside which was lovely (great people watching in El born which has a fantastic vibe) and then moved inside for our meal. The staff were stars, very friendly and accommodating, they created a great atmosphere (particularly Dany who was very smiley and the dark haired girl who was covering the outside tables - both fantastic). We had... More

Visited the above resturant during my stay in Barcelona end of April. The staff were very welcoming and the decor excellent . The food we ordered was very good indeed, very flavoursome and typically Spanish. I would recommend this resturant to anyone who is visiting the Gothic area of Barcelona We ordered a house red wine which I might say... More

Got the recommendation for this gem from Movida's Guide to Barcelona. It is very close to our apartment in El Born just few metres away really. We opted to dine inside the beautiful restaurant with seemingly original old style bar and decor, not least of which is the mirror panelled ceiling. The staff were attentive and quick to spark in... While looking for another restaurant, we happened upon Casa Delfín. We were warmly welcomed by the waitstaff. While the outside seating was inviting and filled with people enjoying the early evening, we opted to eat inside. As it was early, not many people were in the dining room. Soon, the restaurant filled with locals. The atmosphere was warm and inviting.... More

Following a famous Travel guide's recommandation we decided to try this restaurant which is well located and seemed quite good. Unfortunately our evening there was almost a disaster. During our 1 hour (!) waiting for some "Croquetas" as amuse-bouche the manager came twice to check if we got it ... no explanation, just "Si, Si, it's coming". The service was... More

Ordered their beef dish for 20 euros and was extremely fatty and tough. Told the staff and no one seemed to care. The local wine and salad were the only good part of the meal. For the included 15% tip, the service was not very good.

The restaurant is in the Passeig el Born not far from the Barceloneta metro. Our hotel receptionist recommended the area as it is far less touristy than some. It was full of locals enjoying the late evening sun. We sat inside and it was beautiful - full of interesting pictures & food items. The staff were very helpful and the... More

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighborhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
