Tapas for lunch

Lovely terrace; modern, maintained, higher standard. Looks very neat and clean. Service was good. Food was refined, we took The patatas, The risotto and The Salmon tartare.

The restaurant is in the Passeig el Born not far from the Barceloneta metro. Our hotel receptionist recommended the area as it is far less touristy than some. It was full of locals enjoying the late evening sun. We sat inside and it was beautiful - full of interesting pictures & food items. The staff were very helpful and the... More

Me and my girlfriend first visited casa Delfin a week ago. We were looking for a place to have a drink and sat down near one of then heaters. Within 30 seconds Marc ( the manager and the Host) came up to us and started and started taling dutch with us. We had amazing cocktails and tapas for a very... More

i've been eating at "casa delfín" for a number of years - it's touristy but not too touristy and offers a pretty good (although not excellent) price/quality ratio... overall the food is good to very good - there are always a few interesting daily specials and the house wines are perfectly decent... but what struck me recently was the wildly... Strolling around Born before dinner and decided to sit outside this prime-time spot in front of Old Born Market. Pulled a couple of chairs up close to the heater and ordered a couple of rounds of Vermut- a barcelones favorite which we are developing quite a taste for! On the rocks with a slice of orange for red, or lemon... More

I can understand that tourist love Casa Delfin. It has a nice terrasse and the inner decor is nice. But to locals is just another restaurant that sold out to the tourist crowd: high prices and low quality, with a service that varies from very good (the waiter in the morning) to quite bad humoured (the waiter at the peak... Hello EPbcn, Thank you for your contribution, we appreciate all! At Casa Delfin we pride ourselves on continuing the tradition of a restaurant that has always been at the heart of the Born and forms part of it´s rich tapestry and history. When we took over from the previous owners in 2007 we embarked upon an extensive and much needed... More

This was my second time eating here as I visited in March last year.once again a really good atmosphere with attentive staff. A wide selection of dishes all priced very reasonably and of excellent quality. Staff are very friendly and professional. The wine list is very good value too and I recommend the red wine Llebre which is just great.... More

My girlfriend and I called here two nights in a row while here for short city break in Barcelona. The seafood paella and seafood specials were really fresh and particularly good. Great location and friendly staff.

My husband and I were in Barcelona for our 10-year wedding anniversary. In February temperatures in Barcelona do plunge to about 5'C in the evening, but we were determined to go to a restaurant that had a patio, dressed in layers to keep war,. As my husband prefers hot food, and the weather was a bit chilly, we also wanted... More

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighborhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
