Expensive Paella

Great people and service. The problem is the cook. The majority of the food that we tried was tasteless and non memorable. Do not order the "Pork Iberico". In order to make this restaurant a favor one in the neighborhood, they need to improve their culinary skills and present items that are full of flavors and provide us with a... More

We visited Casa Delfin for lunch while on a trip to Barcelona. The restaurant serves tapas, as well as, other main full size dishes. We ordered Padron peppers which were great and very tasty, tomato bread - also nice, toasted and well seasoned. Other dishes were less successful. Octopus was very spicy, even though it did not specify this in... More

Cute restaurant and location, but the food looked better than it tasted. Our table had different paella - one pretty salty and one in a broth (with no spoon, and no lobster fork for the pieces of random chunks of lobster with very little meat inside, and no finger wipes which was strange, and very much needed). Check your bill... More

It was dinner time and we settled down at this restaraunt. Looked at the menu and ordered "fried squid" and a "lobster paella". first of all the squid was not fresh, it tasted frozen and not even crispy at all. Didn't even bother to take a picture of the "lobster paella" cuz it didn't look good anyway. Very disappointed. The... More

Arrived around 9pm on a midweek night and intended on eating outside however it was full. We decided to eat in the restaurant, we were the only ones in, but soon filled up creating a lively atmosphere. Recommend the monkfish with courgette or the lamb shank. Great food.

This restaurant came recommended to us, but perhaps only because it's in a convenient location? None of the dishes we tried were anything other than average, but with above average prices. We were glad we ate inside or we would have had to pay even more. Many nicer places one could eat at.

Very nice decor, delicious food but you have to line up for 20-25 minutes at least if you go during fair times. We have tried Doner, and Stone grill, which both were excellent. Salad was modest, ayran was a bit salty but acceptable. And hot bread of course:) Only probem i can tell is thaat you dont feel having too... More

We searched this out because of lonely planet review. Spent 80 euro on burned paella and less than average food. Had better at local places for half the price. Should be taken out of the book as a recommendation. Such a shame. Maybe since being recommended they've become complacent. Would not recommend this restaurant.

This place provided a nice respite after a morning of touring. Good service in nice surroundings. Tapas or something more substantial. We decided tapas, fried sardines, octopus, assorted seafood and tomato salad. Simple but done very well!

Neighborhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
