This is a serious Japanese restaurant. The best is to order their tasting menu which you need to be at the restaurant before 10 pm. Also recommend to book in advance. I went in a little too late and need to order ala carte. The quality of the food was good but the price were way too expensive.

We were on a city break in Barcelona, and as it was our 40th wedding anniversary decided to splurge in a top class restaurant. Koy Shunka did not disappoint. We used to live in Japan so are familiar with Japanese food but this was something different. We had a 10 course tasting menu, all the ingredients were ones we recognized,... More

Wonderful Michelin Star Japanese Restaurant. We tried the full taster menu, and the whole experience was excellent. A must visit when in Barcelona :-)

I suspect I also read too many reviews... so stop reading now (!) We enjoyed a great meal, in a really stylish space, with attentive (but not hovering) staff. But I think I expected it to be life changing Japanese - and it wasn't. Maybe I'm spoilt by options in Sydney.

Obviously this restaurant got its Michelin star not for being a typical Japanese restaurant. Actually, I think the experience was incredible. Fantastic food. Superb quality. Tuna in all varieties is splendid. Count about 100-140€ p/p. Reserve two weeks before the diner date!

The restaurant was quiet and refined, the staff were excellent , and sitting at the bar watching the chefs prepare the food is mesmerising. We had the larger tasting menu and left fit to burst! Every dish was delicious and most certainly my favourite Japanese experience in Barcelona. The freshly pressed wasabi was divine, as was the lobster and truffle... More

The atmosphere is a little bit quiet but very elegant. All staff treat customers absolutely professional. There are only two lunch menus, consisting of many different dishes each. Each of them is beautifully decorated and prepared absolutely freshly. The quality is absolutely OK. However I felt a little bit cheated because there is a big deal being made about Koy... More

Loved it, one of the best sushi experiences I have had while traveling - yet it is not world class... for world class nigiri in Barcelona I suggest Pakta's tasting menu, the nigiri course is truly the absolute best you can find in all of Europe.

We had the gastronomic menu 110€ which was of good quality but to be honest the creativity is not good enough when we are takling about a michelin star! For what you get served it is way to expensive and simple... The staff was very friendly.

This is by far the best japanese restaurant in Europe. Matsuita-san (the chef and owner) is a brigth mind and a very friendly person who is always coocking in front of you (I know him dince started in Barcelona as Sushi-man in Yu), showing that what he does is honest. Is surptising that all his team in the kitchen is... More
