There was 9 of us (on a hen/batchelorlette) trip to Barcelona. We were told about Arenal from a friend who lives in Barcelona and were not dissapointed. As there was a large group of us we had a set menu, which included tapas style various starters (the deep friend artichoke and the mussels were lovely) - followed by a choice... More

We were traveling and walking around all day. We strolled by this restaurant which looked nice and like a good place for dinner but they closed around 5 on Thursday. This is not abnormal for some places in Barcelona but they still let us come in for Sangria as we had been walking around all day and were thirsty. It... More

So few waiters I was about to go to the kitchen myself, but then what's the point of giving yourself a tip?

Dear Customer, Thank you very much for sharing with us your opinion. We regret that your experience was not positive. We have been discussed your case with our team. That day we had more people than expected in our restaurant, and it is likely that the times were delayed more than usual for us, (20 mins for a paella). We... More

Enjoyed drinks outside, late one afternoon. Got the sun and watched people on the beach. We'd been told by an adjacent restaurant that we couldn't have drinks but would need to eat. Arenal were far more relaxed. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

We were 2 and waited 20 minutes to be seated by the "head waiter" (person in a suit & tie!). - once seated, another 20 minutes to be asked what we would like to drink (not order!) - then after 20 minutes another waiter (waiter 2) asked what we would like to order to eat. - after 30 minutes, we... Staying in Barceloneta

Neighborhood Profile
Barceloneta
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
