Fantastic Find!

WOW this restaurant really blew us away! We walked in hesitant because we had a big night planned (favorite DJ playing at a massive beach club) and we were worried we would be too full with rich food from their tasting menu. This usually is not a problem for us but we had to stay up all night and... read more

We we're celebrating my girlfriends birthday in Barcelona and I had booked a table for us that night prior, also some days before I sent them an email asking if they could help me set up some sort of surprise. They did, it was great and she was really surprised and very happy. The food, though quite expensive is excellent... More

Staff are very friendly but it didn't make up for the terrible food considering we paid 170 euros in total. 65 for the tasting menu and 30 for the wine. It was a regrettable choice and totally bad experience

Our family of 5 (age 15 and up) visited this stylish high-end restaurant in Born. The waiters were great and 2 persons with shell fish allergy was problem at all. The gastromic tasting menu was fair priced and served with great local wines that only costed approx. 20 euro a bottle. We all had a great foodie experience😊👍

We had dinner my husband and I last week at restaurant montiel. The food was amazing!!! We ordered the gastronomic degustation menu with white wine. Our waiter (his name was Gabriel) was extremely nice and knew everything we wanted to know about their wine and their food. The menu consisted of the following: Amuse bouche, passion fruit with avocado and... More

The meal was wonderful, the staff was wonderful and it still felt casual and unpretentious. Definitely a restaurant for people very into food, the courses we're very inventive and creative

The food, the staff and the atmosphere are awesome. All 10 courses were memorable, as well as the wine pairing. Get reservations and go! Then stick around as the night life in the area is vibrant!

A wonderful evening with very friendly and enthusiastic staff. We had the 10 course gourmet tasting menu with wine pairing and enjoyed every moment of it. The price was very reasonable for the quality of food, wine and service we received. We paid just over 100 euro per person all inclusive. I would happily recommend Restaurant Montiel to travelling foodies

We ate al Lasarte restaurant. It was more expensive but the level of their cousine was way better of Montiel. It was a real deception. Nor the atmosphere neither the food justify the prize we paid.

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighborhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
