I am always coming back

When I am in Barcelona this is the first place where I eat all the time. It is at the main market on the Ramblas so everything is fresh always. When you arrive you have to look for people who are about to finish their food and wait behind them. When they are done you can take a seat and... read more

I had for breakfast Quim’s famous Huevos con Chipirones (fried eggs with baby squid) and it was a unique experience! Tortillas are amazing as well. Finish off with a cortado or a glass of cava, as you like! Both locals and tourists come here for the excellent food. Get there early!

We had the luck and pleasure to sit next to a woman who was a good friend of the chef/owner, Tony. We were able to see the chef in action while he cooked special treats for her. The food we ordered and consumed was delish! Definitely order the green pickles and the omelet of the day. We also shared the... More

There are no words to describe this superb dining experience. I first visited this small intimate restaurant in the hustle bustle of the market 20 years ago! It was famous then as it is today! You may have to wait for a seat as there are always queues however it is worth every moment! Staff are excellent, friendly and patient... More

We read about this little gem on the plane as we flew to Barcelona. It stands in the middle of a crowded market, about a dozen chairs at the counter. A fairly small an unassuming stall... Because we had read about it, we waited for a space at the bar. And waited. Then we waited a little longer... Neither of... More

The food is definetly the best food in town there is no doubt about that. Besides that the white wine was also delicious and the staff were very friendly.

We had lunch there. It was quite yummy. We had to wait a little bit, but that was not a problem because the food was worth waiting;) today we will go again for breakfast! :)

Go for breakfast or early lunch to avoid a wait. Delicious food and a fun spot in the market. I go back every time I visit Barcelona.

Food there was yum especially the mussels! Another fish my sister enjoyed was the baby octopus and friend egg. Unfortunately after a day of early flights and travelling I was a bit tired and found it hard to enjoy my meal as much. The counter tables are what gives this restaurant it's vibe but unfortunately before we finished we had... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
