We tried to get into Cerveseria Catalana on Sunday night but with a 90 minute wait and kids at 14 and 11, we needed an alternative. We discovered Loidi walking back towards our apartment. We were not disappointed. Loidi looks quite adult/sophisticated. But they could not have been more welcoming to our kids. We sat outside and they immediately offered... More

We came for tapas one night and then came back for dinner another night. Both were great but this is a great place to come for a special dinner. We wish we had time to come back for another dinner here.

Maybe because we were following the great Martin Berasategui's name, lunch @ Loidi was a bit disappointing. The decor is rather neutral and a bit stale. The maitre d' wasn't happy when I asked him to change my English menu for a Spanish or Catalan menu (?). The amuse-bouche was a dream of melting calf's cheek. The first course was... More

We had the tapas special for 2 people and it was great. There was 5 different types of tapas including t bone steak! Then wine and dessert. A bit pricy for lunch at 50 euros but it was worth it.

The restaurant catered for around 70 of us at a conference - never an easy task. The food was superb - fresh, delicious and interesting, even though we all ate the same set menu. The service was friendly and enthusiastic, although it was a little slow: that may well have been because they weren't aware we were rushing to a... More

Wanting to give yourself a treat ( expensive one ) ? Go to Loidi in Barcelona. You will find Spanish food, revisited by a a creative but really Spanish restaurateur at its best. You will find the basic staples of the Iberic food, always with a twist that will surprise and amaze you. As a Spaniard, I could say that Loidi... More

Today was the second time we tried the tapas set menu, and again the quality and service were exemplary. At 25 EUR per head for a menu including squid, steak, ham, croquetas etc, and a fantastic chocolate dessert, the value for money is very good! Definitely worth a visit

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
