Small and perfectly formed

This family run business is a tribute to Japanese cooking. It's possibly the smallest restaurant in Barcelona and service can be a little slow if it's full..the kitchen is even smaller, but of all the many good and bad Japanese restaurants in the city this is one of the best, especially value for... read more

We had lunch here by chance because they were located close to the center. We had a 12 EUR sushi menu which consisted of miso soup, 4 sushi, 8 rolls and drinks. Then they had dessert (banana with rum or yoghurt with honey). The sushi just did not match to what I had in mind of the good standard of... More

OK, so we arrive at 9pm. There are three of us, and the waitress, somewhat rudely, explains that they have sittings at 8 and at 10:30 and if we want to eat, she needs the table at 10:30. We say fine, no problem. The tables are very tightly packed. When we arrived, there was one other table occupied, a three-top.... More

Service was fantastic, the food was just too greasy for my taste. Tortia potato was not greasy everything else was. Menu was in many languages which was cool. Again service was great. A little pricey for what you got as well. But try it you may like it!

This is not your typical japanese restaurant. It is more like stepping into the kitchen of a japanese family that would cook for you. It is japanese food without fuzz but with all the taste of what you could really eat in Japan. Nothing extremely complicated but really delicious. Their sushi is extra fresh and superbly done. Don't hesitate to... More

We must have been to a different restaurant than the others who have written reviews of this place. One of the two servers was a bit argumentative and abrupt - we kept waiting for the sense of humor to kick in. The food was mediocre at best - rice was undercooked, maki rolls fell apart easily, California rolls had canned... More

For value for money there is no better Japanese restaurant in Barcelona. Prices are reasonable, quantities are correct and the food is fresh and tasty ! The decoration leaves you thinking that "they could invest a little money into making this place look half decent" and the tables are so tightly squeezed, you think that everyone in the restaurant is... The food was alright. I went during lunch when they only offer 3 fixed lunch menus: meat, fish or sushi. They were cheap menus, i think it was 9 or 10 for the meat and fish and 11 euros for the sushi menu which includes miso soup and a drink. A very small cosy restaurant but the main waitress, this... Fantastic relationship quality-price. Cosy small restaurant owned by a catalan-japanese family. Totally recommendable. It's better you book a table as it's so small.

If you dont mind basic surroundings (this place is small (only 6 or so tables)) and average service, but love decent home made japanes cuisine then this is the place for you. Very economical (we ate very well and drank just as well, for only 23€ each !!), quite basic decor, but fabulous food. You need to book to avoid... More

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighborhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
