Food let down by disappointing service

We ate here for lunch as everywhere was full. We thought it would be okay as is the sister restaurent of can ramonet. The waitor sat us right at the back, which may be understandable as we had no booking. This waitor was very aloof and uninterested, for example when my spanish husband was ordering... read more

Went to this restaurant as it was near our apartment and it had been busy all week. We had a selection of tapas, all freshly and beautifully cooked. Staff lovely, a bit pricey but best food we've had in Barcelona.

Great wine recommendations; great tapas recommendations. We stumbled upon El Nou Ramonet and just asked the people who were coming out if they liked their food and they were frequent visitors to Barcelona who went there every time they came there so we gave it a try and were glad we did. We had planned on tapas that night but... More

We found this lovely restaurant whilst wandering around looking for something to eat and decided to try it. Lovely decor and the staff were welcoming although it was very quiet. We picked a few of their special Tapas dishes and was not disappointed. I cannot remember how much we paid but do not remember finding it expensive at all and... More

Had tapas with my boyfriend. The food was very good, but it was a bit over priced. Staff was welcoming and nice. Not packed with people, so nice to go there if you have not booked and are not keen to wait a long time.

There you can go low prices with tapas or take advantage of their specialties in the menu and abuse of their selection of wines.... Service is very good, the place fits for romantic, big groups or casual occasions:enjoy!!!

We were wandering the streets down in Barcelonetta and had been advised go into the back streets for good options and non-tourist eateries and we found this place and were happy with our choice. Only one other table at 8-30pm was not encouraging but it soon started to fill up and by 10pm was well patronized. We had entrees which... More

My wife and I were recommended to this restaurant by our 5-star hotel. Im convinced after reading reviews that the hotel concierges must be getting some sort of kick-back because to refer a guest at a hotel at the level we are staying to this place is ridiculous. Atmosphere: For my fellow Americans: ever been to Long John Silver's or... More

The service was good and kind. We eaten paella with seafood...it was good but not so good (too salt inside) for a price a little expensive. We drunk the sant miguel beer...what else!

After going to Can Ramonet we tried the Nou Ramonet. All very good, had an excellent lobster paella to share; but got a surprise when the paella was twice the price we expected, as the menu did not say it was per person! Maybe our fault, but surprised non the less.

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighborhood Profile
Barceloneta
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
