Boring for a tourist

The English lunch menu is completely different from the Catalan one and so is the service for foreigners. While the locals (mainly business people) received more options, better service, bread with their meals we almost walked out based on the dour waitress. Very charming waiter but the food was very average and the restaurant looked as though it has been decorated out of a kit box.

The Restaurant is very cosy and nicely decorated. The Paella is a little bit more expensive than in other places around but really good!

We ended up here after failing to find another restaurant we remembered in the area. It looked promising, and didn't look like the tourist rip off places nearby. We were wrong! The food was poorly prepared and overcooked, the service off hand and slow and it was hugely overpriced for what we received. Barcelona can offer much better and we... More

Went to this restaurant as it was near our apartment and it had been busy all week. We had a selection of tapas, all freshly and beautifully cooked. Staff lovely, a bit pricey but best food we've had in Barcelona.

We ate here for lunch as everywhere was full. We thought it would be okay as is the sister restaurent of can ramonet. The waitor sat us right at the back, which may be understandable as we had no booking. This waitor was very aloof and uninterested, for example when my spanish husband was ordering, he would decide to pay... More

Great wine recommendations; great tapas recommendations. We stumbled upon El Nou Ramonet and just asked the people who were coming out if they liked their food and they were frequent visitors to Barcelona who went there every time they came there so we gave it a try and were glad we did. We had planned on tapas that night but... More

We found this lovely restaurant whilst wandering around looking for something to eat and decided to try it. Lovely decor and the staff were welcoming although it was very quiet. We picked a few of their special Tapas dishes and was not disappointed. I cannot remember how much we paid but do not remember finding it expensive at all and... More

Had tapas with my boyfriend. The food was very good, but it was a bit over priced. Staff was welcoming and nice. Not packed with people, so nice to go there if you have not booked and are not keen to wait a long time.

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighborhood Profile
Barceloneta
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
