A sunny January day, warm enough to sit outside in the sun by the harbour.....

Its inevitable that you end up in a bit of a tourist trap but the location and the chance to watch people go by is worth it. The service was excellent and the wine superb and surprisingly good value. Three of us had a great lunch here with excellent service. Two of us ate the Sole cooked in oranges which was delicious. I also recommend the red fruit soup as a dessert which was very different and rather good! We would come back here again!

The food was good - especially the Paella Trio (including Black Paella) and the location is fantastic, but there isn't much special to distinguish it from other places. We preferred the smaller more local places like: Bar Del Pla Sensi Bistro Cafe De La Academia

A nice place for dinner with sea products. The waiters are only male. Tasty paella -- black and traditional. Tips are included in the cheque. Many people sitting at porch to compare with the nearby restaurants.

there are so many better places in Barcelona than this advertised mediocre restaurant serving plates you do not even notice what you eat…no fantasy .. nothing…just another tourist trap...

Clearly the restaurant has a great location by the marina and gets a lot of passing trade as a result. Sitting on the terrace in the sun is great, watching people. So what about the food? Its okay. The "special" paella had two clam shells, plus prawns, squid and fish. The flavour was okay but nothing to write home about.... More

My review may be influenced by the fact that we were sitting outside in glorious sunshine at the beginning of November watching people sunbathe on the beach. a good start then! I have read the reviews complaining about the service, all I can say is it was very Spanish, that is, superbly professional but in no way condescending. I personally... More

I cam here as part of a business dinner and was pleasantly surprised. I expected a tourist trap with awful food, but my zarzuela (grilled seafood in a rich tomato-based sauce) was extremely tasty. I have no idea what the final bill was, but I guess it was expensive. Service was not so good. Would I choose here if I... More

This was a very disappointing evening. The man who showed us to the table was really miserable and unwelcoming. The waiters were no better. The paella was appalling. Would not recommend going here. I think they rely on their location by the Harbour, but management really need to send their staff on some customer service training.

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighborhood Profile
Barceloneta
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
