Good tapas pintxo place, all food very good, even though there were some not to my taste... I cook black pudding till its solid, so was a bit put off by the red squashy interior served! Also, the beans and chorizo was bland and had just 3 tiny bits of chorizo in a main course. Its easy to get carried... More

We ate very well, too much actually but how could we have resisted all the choices. Service was excellent with good advise on possible choices. Restaurant has a couple different rooms for different size of parties. Do reserve nonetheless especially if you eat late like the locals. If you like this kind of food and you are in Barcelone, please... More

Very fun place. Good good food. Servers were terrifically nice. Prices reasonable. I'd definitely revisit this restaurant. A nice change-up from the typical tourist-oriented (paella, gazpacho, tapas) place, even though they had Gazpacho....

We chose this restaurant because of the trip advisor reviews and it was close to our hotel. When we arrived the front was packed, but they brought us to a large table in the back since we had 9 in our party including 3 children (ages 7, 11, 15). You can pick cold tapas from the cases at the bar.... More

We have just had a great meal in this little restaurant. We arrived early ( for in Spain) and there wasn't many customers, which worried me. However, within 15 minutes the place was buzzing and I could totally see why! The food is excellent as was the service. Lots of fun tapas to choose from and very reasonably priced. Would... More

If you are new to tapas dining (pintxos in this case), this might not be the place to start. However, if you are an experienced diner and are looking for authentic Basque pintxos, this is the place for you. Everything is completely fresh, none of the reheated, microwaved tapas that you get on Las Ramblas.

We love this restaurant. There are dishes and dishes of tapas under glass and you choose what you want and then tell the server how many toothpicks you have. The house wine is great too. The overall experience is worth the trip.

When we entered Maitea Taberna, it was already bustling with locals. Tapas were fresh and exceedly good and also affordable at?1.65 per piece and there were also fresh off the oven tapas being paraded around for tasting. Really marvellous savourable experience and I would definitely recommend to anyone to travel there and try the true Spaniard tapas.

Maitea was recommended by the owner of our apartment. It was close, we were tired and hungry after our flight, so we went -- and we were very happy we did. We were a little late for tapas, so we had dinner in the back room. The room was spare, the chairs were not the most comfortable, but the food... More

This place serves average food at above average prices and provides below average service. They seem to like to make you wait in the bar area so that you'll order lots of tapas and drinks while you're waiting for a table that is otherwise ready. Supposedly, the food is authentic Basque cuisine but it was nothing special. Prices were very... More
