They did it again: SomorRostro is the greatest

This is not my first review of Somorrostro. Through 6-7 years they kept a fantastic high standard, and with their new tapas concept they have reached new heights. I can not believe that people are not standing in long queues to get here. Conversely, however, let it remain a secret, so I can get a... read more

Picked this restaurant based on reviews - and wasn't let down! Nook and cranny location in Barceloneta but easy to find. Made reservations - table was ready. Very casual atmosphere - staff very friendly and spoke great English. Menu was very unique and eclectic! Really enjoyed their interesting food pairings - and all was very good. Prices were fair though... More

My man and I stumbled on Somorrostro in an attempt to eat in Barceloneta someplace less trappy than the waterside establishments. Please note the bar there - LESS trappy. Barceloneta is possibly the Mother Hive of Tourism for All Nations, and if you are there, this must be at least partially embraced. However, we hoped that by going down some... More

Wow, I wish we found this spot earlier in our stay in Barcelona (although we had fantastic food elsewhere as well). The best culinary ending. The area it is in (Barceloneta) felt like "Spain" to us. I wanted to explore it more, but alas, will save that for the next visit. We were a little worried they may be too... More

My wife and me had a dinner here. We both were satisfied. The locals were very helpful and talkative. I recommend this restaurant for everyone.

Tiny restaurant close to Port Vell. You don't sit convinient but there's a nice atmosphere and an open kitchen, which is most of the time a good sign. The menu goes from classic to creative and after ordering you receive delicious little dishes. Depending on how hungry you are it's possible to have more :-)

Unfortunately one of my favourite restaurant in Barcelona changed style…maybe they took this decision because they want to earn more money and they may succeeded it but definitely they lost one of the most devoted customer. Before April 2015 it was a nice restaurant with a cosy atmosphere where every day you could find a different menu for a decent... More

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighborhood Profile
Barceloneta
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
