We were tired of the "typical" local cuisine and looking for an eclectic, intimate restaurant with atmosphere. It was perfect. The menu changes often - they bring you a big board with the dishes of the day. You can order the dishes as a whole plate or as a half plate. We weren't super hungry. We had three half plates... Went there with some friend of mine and we had a great time. Fresh and delicious Spanish tapas, fish Catalan cheeses and try their homemade sangria - beautiful. We invited two street musicians to ingnite the mood - sorry for that to the rest of the staff and guests.

We tried this restaurant after reading the feedback. We have been lucky to get a free table for 2 on saturday night without reservation. The restaurant is very rural, but nice! Food menu is presented on a board. We tasted several tapas: marinated partridge with figs, mushrooms croquettes, creamy rice with wild boar and mushrooms (twice), aubergines with honey. For... More

This had to be one of the best meals I've ever had. Dined here for a late lunch my first day in Madrid with 2 friends. We ordered sangria (perfectly made) and asked the waitress to just bring several of her recommended dishes for us to share. The mussels were incredible, and the duck ceviche was amazing. Not a single... More

We had a magical evening here, having bolted from Sicily due to flooding and somehow stumbling upon this fabulous eatery our first night in Barcelona. Squash blossoms, mussels, patatas bravas were all on point. Absolutely perfect! They honestly have the best sangria I've ever had anywhere. A little pricier, but worth every cent. The staff have a blackboard menu in... More

This place is great for a team event. On our team, we had a mixture of vegetarians and non-vegetarians - everyone was able to enjoy a few tapas dishes that they really liked. I was disappointed because the steak dish that I was looking for was not available that night. Overall, this place was well worth the visit.

We found this spot after a long day on the beach and in search of some sangria and nibbles. We were blown away with every dish- the detail, the execution and the service. The owner and cooks were also a great part of our meal experience, offering suggestions, teaching us how to eat some of the dishes and sharing their... More

I had a great time here. The waitress who attended me was very nice. I loved the tapas she suggested to me. The food here is good too. I ordered the stuffed zucchini stuffed with goat cheese, oyster with passion fruit, rice with sausage (butifarra) and squid. If I end up in Barceloneta again, I won't hesitate to eat here.

We really enjoyed our visit. Great atmosphere and really friendly staff. I'm vegetarian and one of our party doesn't eat pork, and the staff we're really good about explaining all of the different options and suggesting substitutions. Really good value and delicious food.

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighborhood Profile
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
