Check the price of the recommended wine before ordering

The food and the service were in line with my recent previous visits. The only challenging and disappointing subject was the fact that I ordered (without asking the price) the waiter's recommended wine. This was fine but I would have never choosen such an expensive wine. Almost 40 Euros the... read more

Our dinner here consisted of starters, mains, desserts and a bottle of wine. There were two of us and it only totalled 69.00euro which is impressive given the quality of the food. I had a perfectly cooked steak - the portion size was very generous as well. Staff were very accommodating and chatty. Would definitely recommend a visit if in... More

I had been to La Tramoia three years ago after the people there were so nice and the food so good that I decided to take colleagues there on their first visit to Barcelona. We enjoyed it so much that we went back the next day. The restaurant is only about a block from Placa Catalyuna, but it is much... More

Had a date here with my wife while visiting Barcelona. We are on the street, which was a nice end to a long day of travel. The mussels were superb and started our evening nicely paired with a local white wine. For a braseria, the steaks (my wife had tapas ribeye, and I had a special angus strip they were... More

The Pintxos/Tapas are wonderful here-we like eating at the bar-choosing a few Pintxos or Montaditos and a drink. We came here several times going to or from an excursion, even for coffee-Just fantastic food!!!!

After having a good menu del dia we decided to book an evening table for Sunday 7 /6 our last night in Barcelona. True the city was very busy due to FC Barcelona returning with the cup but we didn' really expect a restaraunt in its prime location to have any problems with this! We arrived on time, were shown... It was a Sunday night, ten in the evening and we were all hungry after a day's sightseeing. We ran into this restaurant which is at the corner of 2 main streets. The food was terrible. We ordered a grill tuna. The piece of fish came with grill marks but was not hot. Obviously the fish was grilled hours ago... More

We stopped here for breakfast on our way to the Picasso museum, and we had coffee, juice and fruit salad at a nice indoor table by the window. Later in our trip we came back at lunchtime, were greeted like old friends by the friendly staff, and enjoyed omelettes and anchovies with a glass of wine. Perhaps it's unfair to... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
