This is a really pleasant restaurant nicely decorated with the traditional brick oven. The staff were friendly and attentive. Here the specialties are lamb and suckling pig. We had a set menu which included a quarter of a lamb for the two of us done to perfection. I wasn't that thrilled with my garlic soup starter.

An enjoyable meal and I would go back. Only serves traditional Castilian food, with speciality of roasted leg of milk lamb. The meat is served on its own, so it is nicer to also order the offered salad to accompany it.

We came to this restaurant on a Saturday evening at nine. After we seated on the terrace a waiter appeared after quite a while. We asked if we could have dinner. He asked if we wanted tapas, but we asked for the regular menu (which was also posted at the wall). After another long wait he returned with the menus... More

Friends from Valladolid took us for an unforgettable meal at this restaurant. We had morcilla (blood pudding/sausage) for a starter followed by the suckling lamb and salad. The meat was tender and succulent and this is one of the few dishes that one is permitted to eat with the hands, so that every last morsel can be enjoyed. If you... More

Had the famous lechazo in the restaurant during my trip at Valladolid. What a treat! They provide a little card on the table to explain how to qualify to be the best lechazo in the region. The food is great and the service is good as well. Its located in the heart of the city.

A classic in Valladolid, offering good tender lechazo lamb, made upon the traditional method. Nice morcilla, ham, croquettes and other things, but the point if this restaurant is the lechazo. The wine list is quite limited, with a good number of references from the region, some Riojas and Galician whites and little else. Wine prices are good, as almost everywhere... More

Are you a serious foodie? Well, this is the perfect place to sample the unique flavours of Castilian gastronomy. The suckling lamb is simply out of this world, traditionally prepared in a wood oven, it is the most tender and delicious lamb you´ll ever taste and an experience you will not forget (might sound slightly hyperbolic but trust me, it... We had an excellent meal at this restaurant. It was a truly Spanish experience food and language wise. Our Spanish is limited but we did manage to get over that I wanted a starter as a main course. Our first choice had been pork, but it seemed that pork is not available every evening. We chose the restaurant as it it... More

The restaurant "El Figon de Recoletos" is an institution in Valladolid, and justifiably so. The decor is laid out with gorgeous earth colors and attention to details and the dishes are all presented in original ways (see photos), When we were there, for a Wednesday lunch, the place was packed, but we always managed to grab one of the waiters'...
