A friend recommended me that restaurant four years ago and now each time that ago to Segovia i have ti go there. No only the cochinillo it's great also the lamb is amazing. The deserts are delicious . Great attention . It's better to reserve at least a week before.

We had lunch on our day tour to Segovia. The restaurant was recommended by both the guide and the travel book. We had the suckling pig, cocinillo; and the bean soup, Judiones de la Granja (a must try) with the house wine. We were very pleasurably full before seeing the sights of this fun worthwhile town. A great day trip... More

We asked at our hotel for the best place to get cocinillo - suckling pig and without hesitation were told to go to Jose Maria. Everything about the lunch was excellent, the staff are professional and friendly, the interior is welcoming with a good buzz when busy and the food is excellent, the cocinillo was wonderful and the hake and... We asked at our hotel for the best place to get cocinillo - suckling pig and without hesitation were told to go to Jose Maria. They were right - it was delicious! The waiter told us their oven can cook up to 40 pigs at once, so clearly this was the specialty of the house.

We had a Tapas lunch at Jose maria shortly after arriving in Segovia last June. The lunch was so good we decided to come back for dinner. Pork and lamb was the best I had in Spain and that's saying something. Attentive service that really is concerned that everything is to your satisfaction.

Delicious dinner - don't eat for many hours before. If you can't finish it, ask for a container to take it away, because it is just as good cold. Don't go too early because restaurant will be empty. House red wine is excellent.

This is the place to go - sucking pig and slow roast baby lamb could not be better. Be sure to make a reservation, they were turning away people without them. But a warning, - if you are at all squeamish about seeing the whole baby pig, this is not the place for you.

Lunch at Jose Maria came as a welcome respite after walking in the drizzling rain all morning. We had a friendly waiter who spoke English well and who was very accommodating. He allowed us to open a fresh bottle of wine but to drink and pay for half and to order a half portion of the morcilla to taste as... More

Not just excellent suckling pig but wonderful salads, perfect veal steak, nice cheeses and good bread. Best service I have had anywhere in months. Lively bar and a fairly quiet restaurant. Nearly perfect experience.

Every dish we had was great, but especially the suckling pig, which is a local specialty. Be aware that portion sizes are large, so there is no need to over-order.
