Coffee & "must try" local pastry

Stopped in after lunch on the plaza. Had a much needed coffee (gave up trying to get a waiters attention for coffee) and tried the local pastry specialty. Shared single portion of pastry and we left more than half. Very sweet marzipan covered sweet cake. I'd say "Ok", not "must have". Friendly... read more

This traditional Segovian sweet is to die for. The best dessert I had in Spain. The little piece of cake costs 3 euros, but it's worth every cent! Eat it there or have it to go.

If you like marsipan, the Ponche Segoviano is to die for! We are still drooling...There was also an amazing range of other cakes and pastries, but unfortunately after the Ponche there was not room for anything else! Coffee was also good. Service was excellent.

The Ponche may be is the typical sweet in Segovia. But it is too sweet for me which can not be acceptable. Bad choosing.

The Ponche Segoviano, or cake with puddling covered in marzipan is absolutely the best! The croissants are really good, too, and the coffee is better than most in Spain, but the Ponche Segoviano is worth a trip to Segovia! You can buy individual portions, so you can take some with you for the road, as we did.

And any other kind of typical pastry treat during the day! Don't go here if you are on a diet, why torture yourself!

We tried this pasteletia based upon trip adviser reviews, and we were so happy we did. We bought a Ponche Segoviana for 3 euros to try, some pine nut and almond "cookies," and cream puffs. The Ponche was very unique and delicious, but be aware- it is very sweet. The cookies were also good, but the chocolate and crema puffs... More

I did the usual tourist thing.. Popped in for my 3€ ponche segoviana. Very very sweet, you'll only want the small one unless you're sharing. Everything else looked fabulous!
