excellent!

We were on our way to a different place that had been recommended, couldn´t find it and ended up here by mistake. Best mistake we made. We were seated upstairs in the restaurant and ordered the menu del dia for 11 euros p/person. Choice of 3 starters, mains etc and included bread, drink and... read more

I'll start by saying the service was great. We went here on a recommendation of a friend. The food was kind of whatever. Not bad, not great. I'd probably try the place again on the assumption that I just chose poorly from the menu. The highlight was the desert. I can't remember the actual name, but it had something to... More

As others have said, this restaurant/bar has very typical Spanish food. And it's really good! The prices are very reasonable. We sat at the bar and ordered a bunch of tapas. It was so good we went back a second time. Located a block off the Plaza Mayor.

We enjoyed our lunch here very much. There's a bar downstairs with some basic tables and a fancier restaurant upstairs with stone walls, a wood beam ceiling, and white table cloths. Still, prices are very reasonable. Service was quick and efficient from a very friendly server who spoke limited English. We ordered a large plate of grilled vegetables for each... More

Went to El Sitio on Tripadvisor recommendation. Great atmosphere with big crowd at the ground floor ( Sunday afternoon). Upstairs more formal dining . Excellent service. Starters were exquisite. Had the grilled squid, grilled vegetables and garlic prawns to share. All were superb. Mains were a big let down.., especially the supposed house special , the suckling roasted pig. It... More

Visited with a friend, we both got the tipico menu. Good value for the price considering we got a whole bottle of wine rather than the one glass as expected. I really enjoyed the judiones first course.. I'd come back just to order a full meal of that stew. Nicely cooked beans and a very flavorful stew kind of base.... More

A pleasant surprise hidden down a side street (full of bars) from Plaza Mayor. The downstairs part looks fairly typical of bars in Spain but upstairs is an atmospheric restaurant with friendly staff serving great Segovian food - I mean: great Segovian food. I don't think foreigners appreciate the quality of life hidden in obscure Spanish towns - which means... More

Found this restaurant on TripAdvisor. The ground floor looked really bad - trash everywhere, but the 1st floor was ok and all the tables were occupied. Got a bottle of cider there - it was marvellous (ended up with 2 bottles)! The prices are relatively high, but the portios are enormous! Didn't know that, so couldn't ate it all and... More

El Sitio provides good Spanish food at a reasonable price. There is a nice atmosphere and the wait staff is knowledgable and friendly. Just know going there that the seating area is upstairs, whereas downstairs is a popular hangout for drinking teenagers (as is the entire street the restaurant is situated on).

On a day trip from Madrid, at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, 21 May we sat down to enjoy the € 20.50 fixed price lunch at El Sito, located just ½ block SE of Plaza Major. The upstairs dining room was bright and very charming. It had hand hewn beams, stained glass windows, about 12 tables with cloth table coverings and... More
