A pleasant lunch with Tapas

We had a very nice lunch at this restaurant. We sat at the bar and ordered from the Tapas menu which was very original including a wonderful lamb curry and a cochonillo crepe. Our guide recommended it during our day trip to Segovia as someplace that had won numerous tapas awards, and no one else in our large group went there so it was perfect for us to try... we had beers and a couple complimentary tapas where were very good--then we decided to try a couple of other offerings and we had... We wanted to have an authentic Sefardic lunch. The food was inedible. The "soufflé" did not resemble anything that looked like a soufflé and was made primarily of mayonnaise. We should have eaten the roast suckling pig at any of the other restaurants in town.

We were looking for a typical restaurant in Segóvia that wouldn't be "hasta arriba" (completely full) so we could have an easy and quiet meal. We found this after checking some TripAdvisor reviews and all in all we enjoyed it. They offer you several menus for every wallets. But I advise you, even for the cheapest (around 20€) you have... While there is a tapas bar as a part of this eating complex, we ate in the white tablecloth restaurant which is part of a hotel that you enter from Calle Isabel La Catolica. There is a very complete menu, but among the different specialities is a menu of Jewish Sefardi dishes which are completely unusual and very delicious. The... More

There appear to be 2 different restaurants in the same building. We were attracted by the colourful tablecloths on the outside tables and the 3 course menu at 11.90 which included a glass of wine. Because it was a slow day, we were seated in the main hotel dining room. Our 3 courses included fresh cream of mushroom soup, veal... More

Segovia is a city made famous by 4 things, The Aqueduct, the Alcazar, the Cathederal and Cochinillo Asado. Cochinillo Asado is a dish consisting of the most tender suckling piglet you could imagine and this restaurant serves it as well as you could wish. The 3 course menu costs about 25 Euros and includes wine, water, bread, choice of starters,... More

The bar area fills up in the evening with people wanting a table but there is a waiting list, sometimes 4 tables ahead of you so you must alert the waiter if you want a table. They don’t like you just to walk up and have a look. The tapas menu in the bar area looks pretty impressive, boasting about... More

Our Spanish friends (who live in the province of Segovia) had recommended this spectacular restaurant and we were not disappointed! El Fogón Sefardi is located in the Jewish Quarter and one might be mistaken about its location given that it tucks neatly behind the lobby of a hotel. The backside (and downstairs) is a tapas bar - either place will... More

The food here was great but the service was pretty average/poor and they didn't have the wine we ordered.
