Very original big restaurant in several floors. Home of the roast piglet. You can propably find better food with less money elsewhere, but this is an experience, not to be missed.......

Having travelled for 6 weeks around Spain and Portugal. I found this restaurant most expensive and the quality of the main meal extremely poor.Their speciality is suckling pig but I was extremely underwhelmed. The staff were very distant as though we should not be there and seemed pleased to see us leaving. No atmospehere and very disappointed.

If you visit this Medieval Town, tasting Cochinillo is a Must. The best place to do it, in terms of tradition, quality and beauty, is, without a doubt, Don Candido´s Mesón. They cooked 21 days of age cochinillos (little pigs) for two hours in a great wood feeded oven. You should ask for "the ceremony", for an unforgeatable experience: Don... More

Had lunch at the famous Meson de Candido in Segovia this afternoon and it was enjoyable. The interior of the restaurant is rustic and the chairs a bit uncomfortable after a while at the table. The staff was very attentive and friendly, but I ordered a chuletón de ternera and got a rib-eye steak.(expected a veal chop) The meat was... More

We went for the 'cochinillo' and the experience. It has its location as its prime attraction since it is next to the aqueduct. Expect to pay dearly as the 'cochinillo' does not come with any side dishes nor trimmings. The server did not cut the pig with a plate either, as they say is the tradition. We did not get... More

This restaurant with its medieval decor just makes you feel as if you stepped into the 15th century. Food was delicious and the price alright. Service from out waiter was great and the complimentary view of the aqueduct from our table was just perfect. Well located you just cannot miss it.

Love the authenticity of serving the cochinillo - it was magical watching our waiter hack at it with the edge of a plate, before hurling the plate to the floor... Definitely a photographic opportunity! The suckling pig was amazing, possibly the best pork I've ever had. The restaurant itself was very cosy and homely, with a real rustic charm -... More

Our family have been going to eat lunch at Cándido almost every time that we have visited Segovia and we have enjoyed much their wonderful "cochinillo" (suckling pig), "judiones de La Granja" (big stewed beans) and their "ponche segoviano" (a very sweet cake). It is an expensive (a minimun of €50 per person) place but worth every penny.

This restaurant is already famous for the endless list of celebrities, presidents, footballers and members of royalty that have dined there: just look at the pictures on the walls to confirm it for yourself. The location, right at the foot of the aqueduct, cements its landmark position in Segovia and its celebrity status. The roast suckling pig is the emblematic... More

Our family ate here while visiting Segovia in December, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The ambiance of the rooms, the friendliness of the staff, the exemplary service...and most of all, the amazing meal. Three of us ordered the roasted suckling pig (or piggies, as my husband called them). When it was served, the meat was so tender that... More
