Typical local Spanish restaurants full of traditions and quality food.

I'm always surprised when I eat this well in restaurants like this one, which are extremely touristy (for location and organized groups) but keep high standards and quality food. Obviously if you like it, your first choice should be the suckling pig, which I can assure is one of the best you will... read more

It’s our first meal in Spain after a long flight from Asia. We travelled with a group of 13 people and had lunch here. The meal was pre-arranged, our three-course meal included a Castilian soup, followed by roast suckling pig, and the famous Ponche Segoviano cake for dessert. Our table was on the 2nd floor by the window where you... More

Ate at Meson De Candido a number of years ago, but remember it well as one of The few Fabulous dining experiences in my life. Myself, and a few friends, on extended vacation in Spain, had rented a car in Madrid, to drive through the countryside. Segovia was our last stop on this excursion. Having no plans, I "followed my... We tried the Castilian soup as the appetiser, the famous roast suckling pig and the custard cream dessert. Apparently this restaurant is really famous for its suckling pig with the family cooking this for generations, and part of the price of the dish is more for the history rather than the food itself. The roast sucking is by no means... More

I have heard of this restaurant for years and was dying to go to try their "cochinillo" as I heard people raving so much about it. It was very disappointing, Very dry and quite tasteless. We had gazpacho first which was OK, but that's all. The cochinillo is served on its own and if I hadn't asked the waitress I... More

It was our third time in this restaurant. We booked a table in advance and had the opportunity to enjoy with the best baby pig we tasted. Everything was excellent: the pig, the atmosphere and the service. Our respect to Candido family

At least if felt a bit like dining with the Romans when we sat down to feast on a suckling pig while looking out on a 2000 year-old aquaduct. Fantastic, although super busy, historic restaurant in an amazing setting. Despite the huge numbers of diners the service was super and the food amazing. The house creme caramel is unique -... More

This restaurant was next to the aquaduct and I was told that is it famous for its roasted suckling pig, so I decided to give it a try with my friends. We received warm greeting from the owner upon arrival and was arranged to seat on the 2nd floor. The restaurant was nicely decorated and you can see the aquaduct... More
