We were sucked in by the cracking atmosphere. The joint was jumping but we squeezed to the front of the bar and snaffled a couple of bar stools. We ordered a couple of tapas and were quickly served. This was in the middle of the September Festival and was all done with Spanish gusto. The food was excellent, the drinks... More

A very lively resturant on several levels. As soon as we walked in the secluded entrance and into the bar on the ground floor, there was a positive sense of popularity with the locals, I guess being right in the heart of this beautiful old university town helped? It was so busy we were lucky to find a table for... More

Located at the side of the University Library ,small door way leads you into a two storey restaurant , with wide selection of Tapas on the ground , more of a bar with food , upstairs is on two levels , We had the tourist menu for 15 euros ,which consisted of a large plate of various, Spanish cooked meats... We visited El Bardo for drinks and tapas one evening and enjoyed our visit. Both wine and beer is very reasonably priced and there is a small but good tapas and raciones menu, the menu is in Spanish so is basic understanding of Spanish foods will help to ensure that you order what you want. We sat inside, the service... More

Recommended by our hotel staff, we found El Bardo to be a wonderful place to eat-we just went with the fixed menu and thought it was authentic and excellent. Not too overpriced.

Great service, excellent food. Get the fixed price menu - just go for it.

Yo llevo comiendo en El Bardo situado en la Avda. I chose this as the fixed-price menú had no choices and I assumed the food would be fresh. Usually, where there's a large selection, restaurants resort to the freezer and the food suffers. How right I was! The fish and prawns especially were excellent, and the other three courses were very good indeed. In the Casa de las Conchas, this... More

This bar and restaurant is located in the delightful Casa de la Conchas, one of the most emblematic buildings in medieval Salamanca. We write this review having passed a wonderful evening starting in the bar, where locals stop by for drinks and tapas, before going into the "Comedor" where good, unpretentious food was served freshly prepared and with no hustle... We loved it here. Never ate in the restaurant but came for tapas four or five times in three days! Given its location in the tourist centre of Salamanca, this place doesn't exploit that with silly prices and the food is good. It's not haute-cuisine but given that a tapa is free with a 1.60 Euro glass of vino, I... More
