Good Service, cheap price but not recommended food

I´ve been living in Spain for a couple of months. This restaurant took my attention because there were a lot of people eating outside. The waitress was friendly and explained to me about the dish which I had doubts on. I drank vino tinto de la casa and it sucked. The bread also sucked as if it was... read more

We noticed this busy restaurant at lunch time, and returned in the evening. The evening price for the menu del dia was cheaper than the lunch time price! I guess this is because during the day there are lots of passing tourists, but in the evening this is not a street used by tourists. The meal was very good for... More

This very small restaurant was an ideal stop for our morning breakfast. The service was excellent and we had no trouble with the waiter or the bill - in fact we had fun practising our Spanish and visited a second morning

The restaurant does classic tricks to make tourists pay more. One of them is suddently not speaking English or even Spanish, when you ask questions about the bill. Especially not if they get caught in adding non-buys to the bill. Also expect to be yelled at, if you catch them doing tricks

Offers a 10€ Menu del Dia with a slightly wider choice than most, including a wider range of salads, and a vegetarian option in each of the 1st and 2nd courses - although on our visit these both used the same vegetable filling - very nice, but not ideal. However, some of the salad options could have been varied for... More

My wife and I found this restaurant (in the tourist heart of Salamanca) by accident after escaping from our bad experience at Restaurant Lis. In comparison, La Luna was a breath of fresh air. The staff were friendly and the food, whilst not going to win any Michelin stars, was nicely cooked and very tasty. A steady stream of locals,... More

We came to La Luna because we couldn't get a table for 9 people at the nearby Mandala. La Luna having plenty of space upstairs, a tout in the street, and a tacky looking menu with all included for 10 € didn't give me the best of hopes, but the potaje salmantino was lovely (Salamanca soup with chickpeas, spinach, cod... We came here because it was recommended in our tour book, but were not overly happy. They have an inexpensively priced 3 course menu for 10 euro, including wine - but it took me about 5 minutes to make them understand that I first wanted an extra glass of white wine, before the included red. The assorted appetizers of cured... More

The food was ok, nothing super amazing but it was adequate. It was certainly better than the traditional tapas in the bars. I ordered the white wine and it was scary tasting, nothing like any wine I have every tried and would not want to try again. It came in a large quantity but I couldn't finish the glass. Neither... Than to go to a restaurant based on the price and being approached by waiters on the street. Nothing was good. Possibly the worst paella I have ever had, and very chewy pork. The wine was provided in quantity, but it was half wine and half water. That's what can happen when it's not poured at the table. It was... More
