The Laurel is a very nice restaurant, all white and green. The dishes are tasty, there is a wide choice and the ingrediënts are all very fresh. Service was very kind.
After all the patatas bravas and tortillas we were looking for a vegetarian restaurant in Salamanca. We walked a long way to find out that the one we were looking for (and that was recommended by Tripadvisor) didn't exist any longer. Disappointed we went home and suddenly passed El Laurel. A vegetarian restaurant! Near our hotel! And what a promising... More
After many days of tapas &co, meat and cheese we decided to make a difference, although we like non veg food. So El Laurel was the obvious choice. Make a reservation (needed, the place was full) if you want to go there. We tried the guacamole (wasn't spicy at all and lacked cilantro - don't even know if they used... More

As everyone travelling with a vegetarian knows, finding varied vegetarian dishes is a challenge, and vegetarian restaurants are almost as rare as hen's teeth. Tasty and healthy cuisine, a huge variety of meals. The lady who runs the restaurant is extremely polite and friendly. An excellent place!
It's hard to come by veggie-friendly options in Spain... I loved this place. Very calm, friendly staff, good food... not only for vegetarians. and I remember the bread being so good!
loved this place--peaceful vibes, tasty food (great change from tapas) good service! And not too expensive either!
Wow, what a find in a country that prides itself on jamon. Don't get me wrong, I loved the meats, tapas, etc. in Spain, but after a while a vegan who has "fallen off the wagon" craves some good vegetarian meals. This restaurant is exceptional, vegetarian or otherwise. The meals we enjoyed here were delicious and well presented. There must... More
I have to agree with what other guests have written about El Laurel; 1) Nope, it is not just for vegetarians. I, for one thing, did not miss anything after a three course meal (menu del dia, € 10,5 including bread, olives and drink) 2) Ah, the calm and quiet atmosphere… a relief after months and months in Spain 3)...
