Located just outside Plaza Mayor this small place if full of flavor from the area. I would say its cuisine is modern but yet keeping the traditional ingredients of Castillian region. Inspiration and culinary passion inhabit among the stones of the Plaza Mayor of Salamanca. The bar and the tables at LasTapas de Gonzalo share history between the Villamayor stone wall and the apse of the Romanesque Church of San Martin. Historic flavour, aroma of food. A magical atmosphere where over thirty different types of Tapas are presented every day This new culinary space, Las Tapas de Gonzalo is the evolution of Plaza 23. The same staff, the same passion, but a new concept based on an affordable casual culinary offer, not forgetting the most important thing: high quality products. The bar, the terrace or the cozy dining room with spectacular views of the Plaza Mayor, these three spaces are the perfect environment for taking part in a cutting-edge culinary experience, that will make your vist to Salamanca, simply unforgettable our

Trying for vegetarian

I started with the Caesar salad minus chicken, then had the risotto with artichoke for my main. The Caesar was good, although more like a mixed salad with slices of Parmesan. The risotto was well done, although slightly under seasoned for my taste.

We have been touring around for the past 10 days in what is stated as the best cuisine in Spain. We have had more disappointments than good meals. Our hotel recommended this restaurant which we had not noticed on Trip Advisor. It has a Michelin and other recommendations and is very deserving of them. We shared an amazing Chicken Caesar... We had lunch here on the recommendation of our hotel. Judy off plaza mayor. Caesar salad was delicious. So was Hake in curry sauce. Service was excellent. Would highly recommend.

The food here was good - we both had roast shoulder of lamb, which was delicious, though the potatoes were oversalted. The service was friendly but perfunctory, since we were only a side show for the groups of guests that trooped in around 10 pm. The dessert (cheese cake) was scrumptious, and the coffee excellent. The restaurant is centrally located... More

Lovely meal in a nice cellar setting; food was well prepared and generally a more modern take on classic Spanish dishes. Service is very good. Only issue was the room was very warm.

Just a few steps from the Plaza Mayor, I arrived early for lunch (2pm) at this wonderful restaurant and for a minute I had it all to myself to appreciate the warm ambiance with white linen and homelike feeling. The tapas I ordered (cod, pig's feet) were nicely decorated and delicious! An incredible arroz con mariscos followed being the perfect... More

A lovely vegetable risotto to start and share followed by a sensational solomillo cooked over coals. A bottle of Pago de Carraovejas was the perfect red to accompany a great meal. Finished off with a Torrija dipped in white chocolate served with Bulgarian yoghurt ice cream. Delicious!

This place is a very attractive room in an old building. The food seems very good, but not spectacular -- very nicely presented, however. They started us off with a complimentary amuse-bouche of foi gras. We shared an interesting appetizer described as "pork stew", but actually a sort of stuffed ravioli, that was very nice. The hake dishes were very... More

The place, staff and most overall the food are outstanding, specially the "jamon". We really loved it. The only but is the price, dont expect to have a good meal for less than 50 euros each (including a beer each and dessert for 2)

We asked our hotel concierge to recommend a good restaurant in Salamanca after a real bad dinner on our first night in Salamanca! We thought there got to be one! We were not disappointed! We did not book but we waited outside for the restaurant to open to try to get a table. Arming with minimal Spanish, we ordered 1/2... More
