Good cooking

We called in one afternoon to book for the tasting menu that evening. No trace of English understood, despite it being right by the cathedral. We arrived promptly at 9 in the evening to be given just an a la carte menu. We tried to explain we'd booked for the tasting menu but the waitress (no... read more

We got there and the language was a little bit of a barrier at first. The owner, Ana, came out and explained things on the menu. The two waitresses and Ana were all very lovely. We ordered the Caprese salad to share and it was plenty for two. I ordered the tuna with a soy marinade and sesame and my... More

Having tried a number of tourist menus in Salamanca it was lovely to find a small restaurant with personalised service and gourmet food. Although there was no English menu and our waitress had minimal English, she was very attentive and quite charming, managing to communicate with some key words. The langoustine and vegetable tempura starter was a highlight. The restaurant... More

I cannnot understand one of the other reviewers saying that this was a "tourist trap". No one spoke English, there was no menu of the day in English, and the only other people eating there were Spanish-speakers! There was a symbolic menu in English and Spanish at the front door, but it did not represent what was on offer. It... More

I discovered this restaurant by word of mouth from one of the locals in Salamanca. The first time I went was with two friends visiting from New York City. Loved it so much that I went back again when another friend was visiting from London. We all loved the food and the view from the window of the restaurant -... More

this restaurant magnificent location facing the south facade of the cathedral makes it already worth a visit. we had the 6 course menú degustacíon which comes for 31 euros per person including wine and water. the courses were tastefully prepared and presented and provided an excellent balance. so many courses can make you feel stuffed, but nothing of this all.... Our hotel recommended Lis and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is intimate and friendly and the food is cooked to order. I over did it ordering the tomato risotto and a selection of grilled pork dishes after they had already talked us into some delicious croquettes to start. However I wouldn't have changed anything.

A simply delightful meal - elegant but not stilted. Marvelous cuisine with a gorgeous view and fantastic waitstaff.

We enjoyed two meals here.the location was wonderful with the most amazing view of the floodlit Cathedral, the food was delicious, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The waitress made our meals a great experience by her friendliness and warmth. A visit to Lis will be rewarded by a splendid meal in an area of wonderful ambience, but at night in the... More

Once my Spanish friends from Salamanca turned be on to Lis, I knew my search was over. Now I make a point of eating here at least once each time I am in town (regretting I am not here more often). The setting, in the Patio Chico, with its commanding view of the Catedral Nueva, is in itself breathtaking, especially... More
