This place deserves to be full every day it is open. The food is of the highest quality, the service was very good, and managed to be unobtrusive. I had the Monkfish (Rape) and the Cheese with honey and nuts for dessert. Four of us in the party and every single meal was of the highest quality. I would consider... More

Small nice restaurant. Service almost perfect. I was happy as they designed an interesting menu for a balanced price in a record time for a group.

This is located in a quiet square in a mainly residential area of the city. While very close to the main tourist centre around the Plaza mayor, it is well off the tourist trail, and seems to be frequented mainly by locals. It is well worth seeking out. The food is excellent - well up to the standard of top... More

Following Tripadvisor recommendations, we ended up in this surprising design place, off tourist areas. Absolutely unbeatable good value for money, and great sophisticated food. Wine choice at a remarkable low price yet astonishing 13€ bottle served. On that Sunday evening, we were the only two customers, so we got the staff all for us. Yet no English spoken, at all:... We visited this restaurant previously and were aware of it´s location which unfortunately is somewhat offputting, however once inside it´s an interesting design. It used to have paintings but these we were told were on loan as an exhibition and therefore the plain brick walls were a little stark. Possibly needs another exhibition or some prints! However this point aside,... More

Very nice restaurant, has the usual plates from Salamanca, together with some interesting proposals of how to use local produce in more imaginative ways. Interesting wine list at reasonable prices

I've visited Salamanca several times and I never came out quite satisfied with the meals served. This time we tried El Alquimista. A friend had told me the owners had had some learning at restaurants in the Basque Country, particularly with Andoni Aduriz. We tried different salads, which turned out to be fine and subtle combinations of several products. Then... More

for my last day in Salamanca I arrived to the place that locals say is the best. we had a lunch over there and enjoyed our meal and the service. the "menu del dia" offers a 3-course meal in an attractive price of 17 Euros. the food is not only tasty but also served in a very attractive way. while... Had a nice lunch here. Food was good but not exceptional. We had the menu del dia - 3 courses with bread and water for €16. Wine list good and reasonably priced. Went based on reviews on trip advisor. If we were back in Salamanca would not visit again because we think they are better places.

Getting rather tired of the food on offer in Salamanca we were please to find this restaurant. The food is imaginative, beautifully presented international cuisine at an excellent price. Service was efficient and friendly. The restaurant easily stands up to comparison with other modern urban restaurants.
