Good atmosphere in busy bar and restaurant.

If the locals are in there is is usually a good sign, we got a seat by the bar and tried a variety of tapas with local wine except for her ladyship who is a gin drinker and this bar sold gin, not all do. Good attentive service and good variations of tapas. The place filled up so quickly with... read more

This place is the authentic local tapas scene. It gets packed by 8.30pm with locals eating a wonderful range of tapas & drinking wine & beer. The tapas pre made behind glass on the bar are fresh & delicious & even more exciting offerings are available to order. There is a menu in English & the busy staff are nevertheless... More

We had a great meal, friendly and professional service. Isabel took good care of us. Many locals.. not your typical tourist trap. We had traditional tapas and the solomillo, which was cooked just right as I requested. This was our 5th visit. The deserts excellent. We just wanted a couple of glasses of wine and the waiter suggested 1/2 bottle which... More

We had a disappointing meal in a touristy restaurant on our first night in Salamanca so we looked at TA and found this delightful place the following day. It was a wet and windy Tuesday evening and we arrived just as they opened at 8pm. We were warmly welcomed and ate in the restaurant which soon filled with locals who... More

our group (incl spaniards) went here on the repeated advice of a few locals. large group and thus able to sample a large portion of the menu. setting inside for semi-formal dining is nice, service quick and warm, and most dishes were excellent... ...but special words are reserved for the young pig (cochinillo) - simply otherworldly. crisp skin contrasted with... We chanced upon this restaurant on the Grand Via. Very friendly staff, we even managed some conversation though my Spanish is poor and they did not speak English. We tried a few dishes and they were all fresh cooked and excellent quality. Solomillo tapas was perfect. We went to other bars and restaurants but on the second night we went... More

It's definitely the best restaurant in Salamanca!!! It's not cheap but it's worth the money. Their solomillo tapa was the best mini steak I have ever eaten.

I write this comment after my third visit here. I come regularly in Salamanca and I much like the traditional Spanish cooking you can find in this restaurant. A seducing 6-course dégustation menu is always available for around 35 €. But you may also want to choose diverse meals at good price. I personally recommend the conchinillo :-). Convinced ?... We chose this place following the TA reviews and we're glad we did it. Dined there twice, on both occasions sitting in the bar (not at the tables inside) and trying different tapas. My wife loved their cheese croquets served with pear mousse. We also tried rabo de toro, boletus croquette, morcilla, brocheta de pulpo y langostinos, chipironcitos - all... More

Been there, done that, got the T-shirt. We went to Toño's Kitchen and now we know. OK but not great. The first bottle of wine, a 1985 Pesquera, was spoiled, undrinkable and left untouched, but not withdrawn from the bill. The squid, Galician style, was excessively salty and chewy, definitely not fresh. The rodaballo fish, (turbot) better, but sadly accompanied... More
