So glad we found it

We chanced upon this restaurant on the Grand Via. Very friendly staff, we even managed some conversation though my Spanish is poor and they did not speak English. We tried a few dishes and they were all fresh cooked and excellent quality. Solomillo tapas was perfect. We went to other bars and... read more

It's definitely the best restaurant in Salamanca!!! It's not cheap but it's worth the money. Their solomillo tapa was the best mini steak I have ever eaten.

I write this comment after my third visit here. I come regularly in Salamanca and I much like the traditional Spanish cooking you can find in this restaurant. A seducing 6-course dégustation menu is always available for around 35 €. But you may also want to choose diverse meals at good price. I personally recommend the conchinillo :-). Convinced ?... We chose this place following the TA reviews and we're glad we did it. Dined there twice, on both occasions sitting in the bar (not at the tables inside) and trying different tapas. My wife loved their cheese croquets served with pear mousse. We also tried rabo de toro, boletus croquette, morcilla, brocheta de pulpo y langostinos, chipironcitos - all... More

Been there, done that, got the T-shirt. We went to Toño's Kitchen and now we know. OK but not great. The first bottle of wine, a 1985 Pesquera, was spoiled, undrinkable and left untouched, but not withdrawn from the bill. The squid, Galician style, was excessively salty and chewy, definitely not fresh. The rodaballo fish, (turbot) better, but sadly accompanied... More

We had tapas here 1st - it was excellent - we had to go back the next day to try the restaurant the next day - and we're not disappointed. They also had an English translation of the menu which was helpful. We were 100% satisfied. Staff are lovely - un rushed traditional Spanish style restaurant - this will not... More

We searched this out because of the good TA reviews, and were not disappointed. Over a couple of visits we tried various different tapas, all of which were excellent. Some are cooked to order and may take up to 15 minutes to arrive - time to sample the excellent wines. Definitely worth a visit.

We went here as it was recommended in the Lonely Planet. Slightly away from the centre of town, but worth the walk. We had to take a bit of pot luck with some of our choices, but weren't disappointed. Ideal for pinchos in the bar and the restaurant out the back looked very busy with locals. An excellent experience.

They have a comedor at the back (dining room). You are best to reserve a table there as they get full. Spanish do not start turning up until 21.45 and stay and eat until around 1.00. All other tabes were Spanish. The server went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. Ours was the only table for two.... More
