I know, that it's and old restaurant with rich history, but it didn't strike me. I was there with a couple of friends. I wouldn't say, that the place is bad, just ordinary place to have a drink with somebody. Adequate prices,

This is a restaurant located in the Plaza Mayor so has great views and people watching attraction. Unfortunately the food is awful, pricey and the service isn't too good either. Salad is limp iceberg lettuce with sliced tomato thrown on too. The patas bravas was like crisps and the steak was shoe leather. It was by far the worst meal... More

Okay so the food is not Michelin quality, the staff don't speak English, it is noisy and crowded (with locals, which is always a good sign), you have to climb a couple of flights of narrow stairs to get to the bar and dining area (avoiding waiters rushing downwards to serve dishes to the tables in the square), and you... Great location, great food, a bit cramped during a busy Semana Santa lunch hour. We had a reservation and our table with a window looking into the Plaza was ready when we arrived!

Climb the worn wooden steps up to Meson Cervantes, and you get a sense that this restaurant has been serving dinners for many years. We enjoyed Sangria and salads, the comfortable ambiance with paintings of Don Quixote and Sancho Panza.

We had mixed experiences here, although the view over Plaza Mayor is undeniably great. If you have a sit down meal they will give you a big touristy menu. Go for the racions of jamon and cheeses. Or don't sit down and eat at the bar instead. They have a great selection of eggs+potatoes+various kinds of meat. The farino and... More

We visited this great restaurant twice whilst in Salamanca . Both times had 'paltos combinados' (mixed plates). The Hake is excellent as was the chicken. If you arrive for lunch before 2.00 pm (when the locals eat), you should be able to get a window seat with a great view of the square. We'll worth a visit even if only... More

Meson Cervantes enjoys a first class view over the truly magnificent Plaza Mayor and it can get really packed in the evening with tourists from all over Spain and all over the world but I don't think you will find too many Salmantinos there! The staff is pleasant enough but you have to wait for your food owing to the... More

It was my first visit to Salamanca and a friend suggested that I try this restaurant. I can definitely say that you can get the value for your money. Large serving and the food was delicious. The waiters were kind and accommodating. We had a wonderful time and had the best tapa experience!

I've been to Salamanca many times, and one of the must-try restaurants is Cervantes. They have excellent, excellent tapas. Make sure to try the fried goat cheese with honey... we had it for the first time during our latest trip, and it is wonderful.
