Hidden on a small street between Plaza Mayor and City Hall, Casa Pancho is a caffeteria / good fast food / traditional cuisine restaurant known and attended by the locals at all hours of the day. If you see a place like that thriving with locals, it must be good! And it certainly was! It's a must place to go... More

This came as recommendation by a Spanish colleague. We walked from our hotel, through the beautiful town and square of Burgos. We found this place hopping with locals in the front bar area. We were able to get a table to the side of the bar, away from some of the noise. The food was great, wine unbelievable. Although our waiter... More

We went for dinner at 7 and while locals enjoyed a tapas or two we had the menu del dia which is a very much cut down version of their standard menu. Just 2 choices for entree and 2 for main. But the garlic soup was the best I have had so far on the Camino, if too salty and... More

I was heading to Burgos for business and decided to review ahead of time where to eat. Our first night into Burgos, we went Casa Panchos and can confirm what everyone else has already said. The food and wine is fantastic. The manager of the business that I was visiting in the city was clearly impressed that we already knew... More

We did a lot of research before picking this restaurant. The research paid off, and even in unexpected ways. First, the food is authentic for the region and excellent. The surprise was that we learned that our "waitress" was actually a member of the family who have owned this restaurant since 1958 and a noted chef. As we spoke with... More

Just got there by chance, we had just some morcilla, callos, cecina and we booked a full dinner for the next evening. A gorgeous lechazo with sopa castellana, more callos and cecina all irrigated with Ribera del Duero "Cillar de Silos" an excellent suggestion from the staff. By the way a so frinedly staff. Caring us, talking to us, entertaining... More

The Ribera vino of the region is great. For a first night with tapas, this place is great. Had cod bacalao, conjunga...which was blood sausage, red pepper and quail egg....very tasty. The mushroom with jamon was best in town. Very crowded but really fun.
