A taste of three specialties

This restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel. We were able to order three dishes for which the area around Burgos is famous: Cordero (lamb) roasted over firewood, garlic soup, and morcilla (blood sausage). All were outstanding. Very popular restaurant. Sit outside and you can see the Cathedral. The food is excellent, it feels like you are a guest in a private home with a great cook -- and the service is warm and friendly. We loved the cochinillo. Prices are also reasonable.

OK, so it wasn't only the suckling pig, though finding it on the desgustación menu meant that I could finally try it on my own. And it was absolutely outstanding. A great location on the plaza, and wonderful servers. For less that $30 USD, I had an excellent meal and was able to try the aforementioned suckling pig, morcilla (a... More

We were in Burgos for a couple of nights en route back home. Booked into El Riincon for a treat dinner of suckling pig cooked in wood oven. The interior of the restaurant is rather dated and frankly a bit funereal. The welcome was lacklustre leaving us to take our coats over to the hanging space across the room, ourselves.... More

We got there just as it opened for dinner. Everything was ok. Flavor was good, service was good. Nothing to write home about but not a disappointment either.

We liked the look of this place next to the cathedral, what a mistake. My wife fared best with her starter of melon and ham which was good but was it worth €14.00 ? In a word no, my black pudding was ok but a bit burned and hard, it came with some pickled peppers. Main courses were a disaster,... More

Firstly, my meal was excellent . I had asparagus which was very good then spit-roasted lamb ( a specialty ) which was superb then a very good desert . NOW , the contrast . It was fairly late and the table next to me outside, facing the Cathedral, emptied . I was halfway through my meal when the waitress (... More

While in town with colleagues we stopped for lunch at El Rincón de España because of its central location. We chose the lunch menu by 15.5 euros per person. The food quality was just ok, with very poor service. One of my colleagues received a moldy dessert and we returned it to the kitchen, letting the server know about the... More
