Just needs a little bit of love

We were in Burgos for a couple of nights en route back home. Booked into El Riincon for a treat dinner of suckling pig cooked in wood oven. We got there just as it opened for dinner. Everything was ok. Flavor was good, service was good. Nothing to write home about but not a disappointment either.

We liked the look of this place next to the cathedral, what a mistake. My wife fared best with her starter of melon and ham which was good but was it worth €14.00 ? In a word no, my black pudding was ok but a bit burned and hard, it came with some pickled peppers. Main courses were a disaster,... More

Firstly, my meal was excellent . I had asparagus which was very good then spit-roasted lamb ( a specialty ) which was superb then a very good desert . NOW , the contrast . It was fairly late and the table next to me outside, facing the Cathedral, emptied . I was halfway through my meal when the waitress (... More

While in town with colleagues we stopped for lunch at El Rincón de España because of its central location. We chose the lunch menu by 15.5 euros per person. The food quality was just ok, with very poor service. One of my colleagues received a moldy dessert and we returned it to the kitchen, letting the server know about the... More

Stayed at the wonderful Palacio de la Merced and came here for late evening meal. Looking at other reviews it is surprising how widely differing the opinions are. Our experience was bad! Poor service and lack of attention, very mediocre food, a thin overcooked sea bass with horrible soggy vegetables and a poor piece of pork- only the crackling was... More

Food served in bowls of grease, "barbecued "chorizo was simply microwaved. Grossly undercooked fillet mignon, greasy soggy chips, meal very politely sent back to kitchen, was returned to me still inedibly raw and I was still expected to pay for a meal I was only able to eat a few bites of. Staff could not care less as customers would... More

Came in late on a Wednesday night, around 10:30. One other party there. Service was great, price low (31 euros for 2). Fodd was terrific. Highly recommend. Pretty fancy, not like most of the pinxhos bars. But not too much. Felt comfortable in jeans.

We were spending just one night in Burgos on our way from England to Spain and travelling with our 2 small dogs. We asked (if you don't ask...you don't get!) if we could eat inside in the bar area which was empty (although the restaurant was full) with the pups and they kindly agreed. The pups sat quietly under the... More
