We enjoyed La Abadia for a tapas dinner while in Toledo. The restaurant is a bar on the first floor with cozy dining rooms in underground sections. Each dining room has four to five tables with a barrel ceiling and a cozy, semi-private feel. We arrived at the restaurant midweek at about 8:40 and were seated immediately. However, shortly after... The bar has a good selection of beer and good tapas. Restaurant is mediocre, food ok but nothing more. Nice cave like ambience. A bit too expensive for the quality of the food.

This is a good tapas bar, the choice is excellent, the atmosphere great, especially downstairs, the service was good , we went because it was recommended to us and therefore we booked a table, can see how it would be difficult to get a table on a busy day, some tourists but plenty of locals too

Located a few streets off of the main plaza. Located in the underground storage "caves" of the old palace. We sampled several plates and all were good - you can share most places and still get plenty to eat. Beer and wine were good!

We put our name on a list for a table and waited long past the suggested wait time. The host did not really seem to be working the list and only gave us a table after asking 2 or 3 times. Once we got a table, the waiter seemed overwhelmed and did not provide prompt service. We tried several of... More

We visited La Abadía in Toledo, Spain, one afternoon for lunch. It was recommended by friends because of its food and historic setting. The restaurant occupies the former storage area and underground warehouse of a 16th-century palace. Located steps away from the main Plaza, the restaurant offers a wide range of local specialities with an impressive array of wines and... More

Upstairs this place is a bar with draft beer, background jazz and a lot of activity. They didn't serve downstairs until 8:00 but it was worth waiting for. A series of small dining rooms with rough brick walls that look like caves. The fois gras on the tapas menu melts in your mouth.

The presentation was excellent, but the food was not at all well cooked- fish and meat were positively raw! Staff were very surprised, and after a long discussion we managed to get a little discount on our bill. Good starter, and cake, but very disapointing second course.

We came for a beer and a quick snack. We ordered croquetas de jamon (5.5 euro for 6 pieces) which are served with baked potatoes. We also got some olives and gherkins as a free appetizer. everything was tasty. Good choice of beers. At lunch time it was full of locals which is usually a good recommendation with regard to...
