We thought this was going to be a gem, and arrived early to guarantee a seat (it does get very busy). We wish we'd missed out on a seat and gone next door. The food was oddly mediocre. The scorpion fish pate was served with cheap & nasty salad cream. The anchovies and roast pepper 'speciality of the house' was... More

Back for our final lunch again before catching the ferry. Always a great way to finish our trip to Spain. Maybe one has to to queue a bit for a table, but it's worth it, their fish is great, the atmosphere tremendous and the staff friendly.

We were looking for authentic Spanish seafood, simple and tasty and received that with great friendly service. The locals go here, so that means the food & prices are what you would hope to get. Enjoy Bar Marucho, we sure did.

Of all the restaurants we visited on our most recent travels to Europe, Bar Marucho might be our favorite. Like many others, I often refer to TripAdvisor recommendations when visiting a new city. Bar Marucho looked okay so we decided to walk there and check it out. We're so glad we did! We arrived very early by Spanish standards, at... More

France- England- Spain and I finally found my perfect restaurant. Recommended to us by our AirBNB host we had a perfect meal in a totally comfortable local place. The waitress cared, the food was amazing and the price was reasonable. The wine was rustic but subtle (their own label). I think I am going to like Spain.

Best Cantabrico fish and sea food at a very reasonably price. The staff its just great people! The restaurant its small but in the centre of the city so you can enyoy having a drink or an ice cream there are plenty of nice places around. Even though they do not accept reservation they will find you a place.

This is one of those gems that you would be unlikely to find without either Trip Advisor or a local recommendation. We arrived just before 8, had we been much later we would have been waiting or a table. By 8:30 there were several folks waiting at the bar and even some waiting outside on the street for a table....
