I found this tiny place after looking on Tripadvisor before visiting Santander last week and I must say that all the positive comments I read were well deserved! Place is tiny, true, and you might be asked to wait for a while...but you won't regret it! First, I noticed that it's a place where local connoisseurs go, and that is... More

If you like the freshest seafood and fish you cannot visit Santander without eating at Marucho's. The place is very informal but with character : food is superb, and waitresses make you feel far more than welcome. I had dinner with my wife who is not particularly found of seafood, yet she could not resist the temptation of the salpicon... More

Our hosts recommended this place which we would never have found if not for their directions. It is very small and we were lucky to get upstairs in the little attic space with 3 tables. Go early! Bob your head! We had such fun...we ordered the mixed salad which was just abundant with real cooked fish, egg, tomato, lettuce, olives... More

This is a really warm little place, congenial, welcoming, with great service, fantastic food, large servings. You go into this place and you know you are in a genuine Spanish neighborhoods tavern. Everyone is smiling and friendly and the room has the right amount of noise, not too noisy and not too quiet. The servers are smile competing. And the... More

The place is super small, so be aware you'll need to wait at weekends. Go if you want fish as it is, simple and fresh. We ordered a mixed salad (very special, with bonito, eggs, peppers), fried anchovies and a 800 gr bogavante (lobster) with water and two glasses of wine for 73 € (50 for the lobster). Very good... The place is a old refurbisherd planak wainscotted tabern. There are an important variety of very fresh fish and sea food. Quality and preparation are superb and the service (the owner's relatives) is friendly and profesional. Tables and chairs are pretty narrow like old taverns style. And the price a little high accordin to this place standard.

We were only 2 days in Santander and we went 2 times to this great bar. It's not fancy, and it's very busy. But what they serve is perfect. very friendly and helpful staff. Good and affordable wine list.

We visited in August with a party of 7 including 3 children. We had a fantastic welcome and friendly good humoured service. I had the Albondigas (Monkfish balls) which were memorable - fresh, delicate and absolutely delicious. Expect a basic, rustic setting - particularly if you're on the mezzanine floor which has a ceiling height of only about 5ft! Although... More
