Delicious fish and seafood restaurant.

This restaurant is in an area called “Barrio Pesquero” (Fishing town). My wife and I arrived early for lunch at around noon. The place was empty, but we were seated and soon after others started arriving. I had an urge to eat grilled fresh sardines and as soon as we sat we ordered some. I was... read more

I came to Los Peñucas for the seafood and I haven't been disappointed. The "Gambas a la plancha frescas" was so delicious that I had to order another portion. Besides, I tried the famous "Pudding de Cabracho". The waiter said some people eat it with mayonnaise. My wife and I decided to try it without mayonnaise first. And, we concluded... More

Seafood par excellence. Simply some of the best seafood to be found in Spain for little money. Great service, English spoken.

Definitely worth to visit this place for its great seafood, friendly waiters and favorable prices. Specialty for me was paella which is prepared regulary and tastes amazing. The portion is also sufficient and the price is more than affordable (around 8€). Also for the 1st plate is worth to try 'rabas' (fried calamaries). The restaurant was full of people at... More

I have tried again after some times trying other place in the same neighborhood, cause I use to go once or twice a year. The reason of the change was because the time waiting was sometimes quite long. But this time the owner or maitre get us pretty soon, it was almost 3 p.m. So maybe was for so. The... More

Right by the fishing harbor in Santander sit a series of seafood restaurants. The one that stands out, with at least fifty years of good reputation, is Los Peñucas, boasting fresh, excellent fare for a fairly reasonable price. It is not fancy, and on a nice day, eating outside is a must. The fixed-price menu when we were there was... More

This restaurant is a landmark in the city of Santander. It is located in one of the most curious or picturesque areas in the city, the Fishing Quarter or Barrio Pesquero, where all the restaurants' specialty is obviously seafood. What makes Los Peñucas so popular is not only that the owners are footballer Iván de La Peña's family (the walls... More

I have known this neighborhood (bario pesquero) since 30 years, go there each 3 or 4 years, and must say that this has turned from great to mediocre. Bad service, no atmosphere (except noise) anymore, and if the food is not bad per say, nothing is good neither and worth the price. I must sadly admit that I paid my... More

Area is dodgy. Restaurant run down. Waiters nice but slow. Paella was aweful. Sole was amazing! Flan too! Not worth a visit.

Hey there people! Our second time in Santander was awful after had a dinner in this restaurant. We tried to repeat our great experience in this city but pitifully we found this restaurant in our way. The fish was not fresh and the service was very poor. Nothing to compare with others restaurant around.
