Lovely seafood meal in nice surroundings - highly recommended

We ate in La Mulata at the start of July, having decided we definitely wanted seafood. Beautiful restaurant with blue and white nautical theme. Really nice decor, modern, white linen table clothes etc. Great selection of shellfish and fish to shoe from. The prawn, spinach and cheese starter was... read more

We visit Santander each year for 4 to 5 days. We always have lunch at La Mulata and have wines at the bar on other days. A wonderful place. The gambas a la plancha (grilled shrimp), arroz cremosa con bogavante (rice with lobster) and necoras (crabs) are excellent. Even something as simple as a tomato salad is excellent. The staff... Absolutely fresh and gorgeous seafood (Octopus Carpaccio was mouth-watering and spider crab challenging but delicious). Lovely interior, friendly staff and caters well for coeliacs - Gluten free beer (Ambar), bread and helpful/knowledgeable staff

The Food was served partially raw. The waiters behaved, as if nothing was wrong. Very expensive evening, but only little value for the colin. Das Essen (Fisch!) wurde halbgar, d. H. z. T. roh serviert. Die Kellner taten so, als sei alles in Ordnung.

We had a good meal, but you must like fish to eat here. The portion size was very good, so if you have a hearty appetite then this is fine. We had grilled Sargo, which was a very good size portion, well cooked and really fresh.

2 zones, the restaurant and the bar. So you can have a relaxing meal or a nice talk while eating and drinking like locals do. Bad things first, seafood was really good altough it wasn't one of those fancy places that select just the better sized for you. Here it's up to your luck, big, small, it all depends. Seafood... I have eaten here about 6-8 times over past 7 years. The shrimp "a la Mulata" are awesome starters as well as the anchovies, served with roasted red pimento peppers and garlic. Fish is always nicely cooked. Nice small bar area, can eat at bar, and small Al fresco area outside of bar. For value and service this is my... More
