Old and atmospheric bar with great snacks

Only Spanish spoken but great fun if you have learnt a little of the language. A busy locals bar and restaurant. Lots of ancient wine bottles to admire.

Excellent service, food, stunning decoration. Waiter very kind and funny. Starters cheese and salad very tasty and big portions, as well as chuletillas de lamb. As dessert "fea tarta" which means ugly cake, but very delicious. You have to go there, totally recommend it, for sure I am going back.

This is a museum of vine with a nice vinelist but some frightening vine prices. It is open from 7:30PM, what is considered rather early for dinner in Spain, but the kitchen starts after eight, and had to wait until 8:30 until the bread was baked to get a piece of ham... For the main dish we all selected a... More

Have visited this place many times over the years, always remembered and welcomed by the waiters. Enjoy some fine wines or a superb meal. This is a must see place when visiting Santander.

We popped in here for a drink, we then ordered the local mushrooms and these were just delicious, we then decided to have a meal here, the staff were excellent as we are all just learning Spanish they helped us get by. The food was fantastic as was the atmosphere and the authenticity of the place. Please go you will... More

Menu all in Spanish, were not fluent by any means but can speak a little of the lingo. Had an amazing night, if youre looking for a real Spanish bar this will not disappoint. The Boleti mushrooms are amazing, T Bone steak was cooked to perfection and the squid was fresh and delicious. Worth returning to Santander just for this... More

Just returned from a short visit to Santander and must have tried every tapas bar going - and this is the BEST! Great variety, really delicious and served in what must be the most interesting bar in the town - it's also a wine museum so plenty to see. Went on a Friday evening - lots of lively pensioners in... I came with my family recently and we had a great experience. The food was delicious, especially the octopus which is the best we had travelling two weeks through Spain. The service was nice and we felt prices were reasonable considering the quality of the food. We would definitely go back!

We came on two nights for drinks before dining. The bar is a shrine to wine. The place is packed with displays of old bottles of exceptional wines, the oldest I spotted dating back to Napoleonic era. Very good wines on offer by the glass, with pinxtos available and full dining inside. A word of warning, though. There are old... More

This little wine museum is fantastic. We came here for a drink and came back twice. The food is lovely and fresh. The staff and very nice and friendly. The wine and drinks on the walls ceilings, and all over the place are amazingly historic, there is a bottle of whisky there that a very famous Spanish golfer won (sevi)... More
