Great Lunch

The establishment doesn't look much from the outside but opens up in-side into a very interesting very old wine cellar. A good sign is there were lots of local families dinning and the place is full of character. The food was excellent and very traditional if a bit expensive.

A group of around 18 people had a meal here for a friends leaving dinner. I get the impression that they don't deal with large parties too often as after we had arrived it was a little chaotic getting seated and the seating was cramped. That said, the service was prompt but that was probably not difficult as the portions... More

Wonderful atmosphere, great tapas. We were two couples at the bar tables; had the greatest grilled squid you can imagine, nothing fancy just great tasting. The snails Rioja style were also very tasty although quite small. Had a fine bottle of red Rioja wine with some other local tapas. The staff was very friendly; I highly recommend this restaurant in... More

We were looking for a decent meat in the area, after few days of seafood. While browsing Trip Adv, we spotted La Bodega. What a great choice. Everything was perfect. The staff, the wine, the decoration is a plus and the meat, oh the meat! We ordered a Chuletao, 1.2kg and I would eat it everyday if I could. Perfect.... More

Our apartment hosts advised us to" drop down the hill" - using the funicular- and enjoy this restaurant and we did! We loved the barrels with the "artistic" expression. It was sunday lunch but not full which meant we had expert attention and service. The vegetable combination was shared, but served as if meant for each of us and it... More

Visited this restaurant earlier and it was good. Tonight how different could it be. Salad arrived with Fag Ash on it. Replaced and we found a tissue with a pin in it - who knows what else!!! Still tried to bill us for our meal. Paid for drinks and left. Disappointing last night in Santander after a fantastic short break.

Several times. Excellent wine and food. A little bit expensive but with very high quality. I repeat ever I can.

I arrived with the family without booking at about 3pm on a Saturday afternoon. We came upon the place without knowing of its existence and so with no preconceived ideas about it. The bar area is large, subtly lit and richly decorated with dark wooden beams and oak wine barrels lining the walls, the tops of which have been painted... More

First impression of this place was the fantastic ambiance: dark wood and artistry on what looked like barrel ends lining the walls contrasted with the moody lighting; the place was heaving and we were lucky to get a table. The food and wine lived up to the setting. Best was the artfully composed cheese platter of manchego, cabrales and other... More

I recently stayed with two friends in santander and went here. We arrived in and the place was packed which was a good sign. We had 3 courses and for our starters and mains we all had very different foods which were all delicious. the layout of the place was very authentic and the service good also. After fumbling with...
