Once again visited Tulipanes with our friends and chef welcomed us with bubbles and both him and his wife greeted us as if we were family or long lost friends. The food, as usual was excellent and in nice surroundings. Visited again near the end of our holiday and, once again, was provided with the same treatment and ate excellent... More

Tulipan was on my list to try, but between 2nd and 15 June I passed by almost daily. It was shut without any obvious notice indicating holiday. Locals whom I know could not shed light on the status. I have rated it VG because this was what friends said I should expect, and I could not complete this review without... More

The location on a narrow side street is very nice and full of atmosphere. There is a group of small restaurants side by side. Unfortunately non of them is that good - very sadly! Los Tulipanes is one of the less attractive from the outlook, but we decided to give them a chance, as we already had visited the neighbors.... More

Not my favorite place albeit their dorado fish was very good. Service was ok but felt everything impersonal.

Came across this restaurant down a side street in the Ranilla area of Puerto de la Cruz. Lots of interesting dishes. I tried the dates wrapped in bacon & my husband had chicken skewers, which was served like chicken Sarah but instead chicken had been marinated in mojo sauce. MAin course was liver cooked with apples which was delicious. My... More

We ordered a mixed paella having been told this would include chicken, shellfish and pieces of fresh fish. We had a mixed pepper, peas, squid, 6 langhoustine and mussels (half unopened)savoury rice...very disappointing. The chef apologised offering a free dessert which turned out to be a local sausage with 2 quails eggs!! To add insult to injury the waiter advised... More

The menu displayed outside and within the premises offered sole meuniere and tuna which was the principal reason for our visit. Neither were available. Cod was the only other fish listed on the menu - it was not available. We should have left. However, we chose other dishes, and they were acceptable- except for the 'flambeed bananas' - they weren't... More

This was our first visit to Tulipanes. Very friendly people. The quality of the main items - fresh sea bream and pork tenderloin - was excellent but the plate was crowded with too much vegetable, sauce, etc. and that detracted from the dining experience. Would be much better if sauce/gravy/vegetables, etc. were offered separately.

Went to this restaurant early evening on our last night in Peurto, and wished we had found it earlier. This was the best meal of our holiday. Great host and hostess, made us very welcome, able to advise on the menu, providence, wines, and got us spot on! Our meal consisted of lots of dishes, mostly starters, and one main... More
