Great value set menu tapas

Great spot for a cheap tapas lunch, more mainland style rather than limited canarian options found in most places on the island.

A government attraction with a restaurant? Surely that's going to be a let down right? WRONG. The thing is, the food in most of the Government run attractions on the island (Timanfaya, Cactus garden etc) is both subsidised and pretty good. This one though is the jewel in the crown. located in the basement under the modern art gallery above... More

This restaurant is hidden below the ancient Castle (Castillo San José) which houses a small, but fascinating museum/art gallery, and occasionally has out-door exhibitions in the front. Down the staircase to the left of the building - look carefully at the staircase, it has to be the most beautiful external staircase in the world! - is the Restaurant. It has... More

Quite frankly the best meal we have had during our visits to Lanzarote. The restaurant designed by Cesar Manrique has a wonderful plate glass wall overlooking the harbour towards Arrecife. Restaurant furniture included black leather "tulip" chairs which were extremely comfortable and blended with the bar furniture. The service was friendly and attentive (unlike an earlier reviewer we had no... More

The restaurant is in an old castle and we went for dinner. The views are amazing, the staff incredibly helpful and the prices very reasonable. We had a G+T plus a glass of wine to start, a bottle of wine with our dinner, 6 tapas (big) between us and the bill was just over 50 Euros. The waiter couldn't have... More

Went for tapas taster menu at lunchtime 6 tapas + desert + wine, beer or water - minimum 2 people on menu. Very pleasant apart from all the tempura veg and croquettes which were far too greasy. Chicken - good- asparagus good - just a mixed menu which didn't work very well and could have been enhanced by lighter dishes

Food and service were superb. We had an array of tapas which were excellently prepared and delicious. The Cesar Manrequez design is , as all his other magnificent designs, simply stunning. Staff were delightfully and genuinely friendly.

Having visited the gallery's we decided to eat in the restaurant which is beautiful design by Manrique with great vistas across the port. Both food and service were great and all reasonably priced.
