Pleasant group meal

Came here twice for a group meal with our Ramblers group. The restaurant is situated on the Las Canteras promenade. It does have a few outside tables but on both occasions we eat inside. The restaurant is decorated with lots of ceramic pigs of various sizes. The starters were good, the main... read more

This place is for tourists. It's been there for thirty years and probably has had some good years. Those years are gone. While the staff is friendly and the restaurant looks nice and clean, the food, while certainly pleasant and edible, had the aura of not being updated for twenty years. At least. It's good for what it is -... More

We visited here twice in the last week at lunchtimes. It is 30 years since some of us have been here and it is still good. Very traditional Spanish bodega inside, we chose to sit in the sun on the promenade. First visit we tried the gambas pil-pil which were brilliant, the second time was the steak in a delicious... This is a good restaurant that is very popular with tourists that return year after year as well as with the locals. The staff are excellent and the standard of the food is consistently good. I have used the restaurant for many years and strongly recommend it.

The restaurant has a terrace along Playa de las Canteras but I preferred dining inside. The interior is very cosy. You can see nice piglets all around. Prices are good. I had the recommended course: salmon with an unknown (for me) sauce (mojo?). The salmon was fantastic. The sauce was made with cumin, a spice I cordially detest (for me,... More

Eaten here several times over many years, always a lovely evening. The food is not fancy, best to stick to simple fare, excellent starters, very good steaks and fresh fish. Good service, always busy with a nice atmousphere. The hot rasberries with ice cream is a great dessert. Always very good value for money, suitable for 95% of the population,... More

When there are a lot of good reviews but some real stinkers, a place is usually best avoided. How true this is of this restauraurant. Why anyone ever goes back a 2nd time is a mystery. First the good points - they have a selelction of half bottles of wine. The fact that they brought us the wrong two was... More

Have been to this restaurant many times over the years and it still offers a varied menu for a sensible price. The seafront position is an added bonus and the staff are cheerful. The head waiter has worked there for 38 years!!!!! Wine selection good, as is the beer. The very close by ;el gallo feliz, is in the same danish/swedish... More

I doubt that more of our meal was fresh. Rest from cans or frozen. Only salad on my dish fresh (for example aspargus definitely from can) and my wifes avocado. Main course vegetable soup fro my wife definitely tasteless and veggies looked either frosen or be sitting in this bowl for a long time. My main possibly just wrong choise.... More
