El Herreno is in Calle Mendizabal, a street in the old town, near Triana and just a short walk from Santa Ana Cathedral. There is seating both outside and inside. We arrived at 2 pm and it was quite warm so we sat outside, although there were a lot of people seated inside. This restaurant is very popular with the... More

Las Palmas is known for fantastic friendly people, good service and excellent food. And we have experienced all that in many years visiting this wonderfull city. But this restaurant is the opposite of all we have experencied so far!!! The service was horrible: The waiters forced us to eat faster in order to serve all the tapas in record time.... More

Good value for money Canarian typical cuisine restaurant in Las Palmas old town. Pedestrian streets around. The indoor restaurant is nice in island style but due to the nice wheather in the island you can use the outdoor terrace in the set in the pedestrian street. Typical food (papas, ropa vieja, calamares,...) at very good prices. (1/2 dish 4€, whole... More

Sorry. Not great. Ok but felt a bit off. Food was good but not anything extra. Service was ok but no more. I think you can skip this one please.

We ordered several 1/2 portions of tapas, most of them tagged as canarian specialties. Appart from the liver dish, which was really great, the other dishes werd just nog up to spec. Service was average. Would not recommend

Not the friendliest place in the world but worth calling in if you want some genuine Spanish food away from the more touristy places nearby. We went early evening and got a table easy. The food was good.

Good attentive service. Had to send my tepid dinner back as it was not hot when served but done quite quickly. I had beef with cabbage. Not particularly tasty considering the amount of garlic. My Husband's fish in batter was OK. Very good wine (from Lanzarote). Traditional place. Good value for money but fairly average food.

The food in gran canaria was - we found - generally high standard and not at all expensive - outside chain hotels This restaurant is well worth a visit In the old town which is a delight to wander round The menu offers local Canarian foods we haven't seen elsewhere - gofia - local soups - plus excellent papas arrugadas... Second time here, and as always, good traditional food. I could wish for a not so dry bread. I will come back

Found this restaurant while walking around Vegueta and turned out to be a gem. Very traditional. Good ambience and very friendly service. One of the best seafood soups I ever had and the Canarian dessert made of wheat was heavenly. Grilled fish was very tender and the potatoes just as they would be cooked in a Canarian house. Very satisfied... More
