excellent

Loved the atmosphere, service and food. Dined here three times in a week - lots of other lovely places to eat in San Sebastian but kept returning to this lovely venue. Save room for the palm honey sweet - excellent.

Had read reviews and expected a little more. To be fair it was a Monday and the service was impeccable. We chose badly, we wanted light tapas but it is a restaurant so we had two light mains. I had the prawns which were tired and over cooked. He had the "clams in green sauce". Not an expert on clams... More

My husband and myself ate here while visiting San Sebastian. The food was very nice. The restaurant is lovely inside. The staff are very pleasant. Definatley worth a visit. The panpipe music is a bit much though - a small thing because, the restaurant is fab.

To find this restaurant you walk up through the tunnel just by the port and then walk to the right as the restaurant is tucked away - but the location is lovely - looking out to Tenerife and the sea. We ate here on our last day of our holiday and the meal was delicious, and the service was attentive.... More

Delicious fresh fish, service and ambiance so good that we ate more and stayed longer than we planned. The best restaurant we visited on the island

We visited this restaurant on a Thursday evening. It was fairly quiet and it maybe because of its position being a bit remote of the centre. It is well worth a visit. We shared a plate of fried octopus which was delicious, coated in a very light batter. For mains we had the mixed fish platter which was very good.... More

Head towards the port and look for the tunnel on your left to walk through, unless the endless road works are completed in which case you can continue past the tunnel and turn left. On a sunny day, the view from El Charcon makes it the best location in San Sebastian to enjoy a beer, on dull days it provides... More

This restaurant is a little more salubrious than those on the main street. Situated through the tunnel in a prominant but quiet spot by the beach. The food was beautifully presented - presentation and attention to detail being important to them. The overall quality and tastes of the dishes were mouth watering. The owner would happily bring the fish to... More

2 lunch-time visits in 2 weeks after first discovering this gem in 2012. Excellent food (particularly fish) and very attentive service. Only pity was that, during our latest visit, the spectacular view from the picture window, across the sea to Mount Teide, was marred by building work. Will definitely be returning next year.

So good we would have eaten there twice but they are closed on Sunday. Probably the best clams ever, maybe the best gazpacho, certainly the best Albacora. The most welcoming host, and delightful service. Don't miss this gem of a restaurant if you are visiting the island.
