You probably won't just walking into this little establishment... The service is b St described as cute, the decor is really interesting almost Swiss chalet but not. The food perfectly cook but when it comes to charging the price seems to be different to that on the menu. I don't think there's a wine list....we didn't get one. Nothing wrong... More

We stayed in La Gomera for five nights in an apartment and never cooked dinner - the choice of small local restaurants is too tempting. We found El Nilo by walking up Calle Ruiz de Padron - there was a nice looking restaurant nearby, but Mr El Nilo was standing outside and enticed us in. Not a hard sell at... More

San Sebastian de La Gomera is a charming little town, where the centre spreads around the main square (just beside the marina), where most of bars and restaurants are located. Sometimes it’s just too easy to stop there instead of venturing into one of the side alleys, but if you are curious enough to do this (like us), then you’ll... More

This is run by a husband front of house and a wife in the kitchen, the food is at best average but the service when it gets busy is dreadfull. There was a group of 8 Germans in on the day we visited and a number of couples, he just couldn't cope, food was almost chucked at you, there was... More

This was the best dish I have tasted in some time - since a meal in a Michelin starred London restaurant - and it came a close second. Also the insalata mista was large and varied. Friendly atmosphere as other contributors have stated, Excellent house red, somewhat less good house white - for my taste anyway.

small restaurant with an amazing guy who would win any time and motion competition for getting the orders in and the food out, providing in-house entertainment. well cooked food, large portions, good value for money and the nicest mixed salad we ate in la gomera

A friend of mine and I came to La Gomera on a sailing trip and lucky for us, with stumbled upon this little gem, right on our first night and went back there another 3/4 times during our stay. Mario, the owner, is a true Gomeran and made us feel very welcome and friendly, to the point that one late... More

according to nice Germans we met in there (both times), and if you want traditional local fare I would agree. Mario very welcoming, food & wine excellent as was the offered digestivo. Good atmosphere and good prices. Only reason I would disagree is that the Salamandra had a slightly more interesting menu, but hard to beat for good value Gomeran... More
