Not the best of welcomes

We tried a variety of local (by that I mean typically Menorcan) during our week stay. This was the best - recommended by the staff at Bar Imperi (thanks Juan). The food was excellent and we returned on our final night to sample the fish platter special which was truely amazing and very good value. Highly recommended

Cafe Baleur This place serves traditional, home cooked Menorcan food. It's just off the top of the Marina (look for the green table cloths) and has a homely, authentic feeling. It's full of locals, as well as tourists in the know and despite the numerous tables an orderly queue of eager diners forms from around 9:00pm. I really loved this... More

Best caldereta in Ciutadella, the service is excellent and the location is really nice, right in front of the port.

Cafe Balear is known by the locals as the best restaurant in Ciutadella. We visited there and were not disappointed. The feel of the restaurant is very traditional. Although my wife disagrees, I think the only thing missing was your grandma's doily's as the crockery is more pot than fine china with green flowers and green table cloths, but don't... More

We had dinner two adults and two children. The adults (2) ordered the Famous "Caldereta de langostino" (lobster)) and chose the menu which is a lot cheaper than the single dish and serves more than enough food. The three menu starters were shared with the children and served plenty for all four. For second the children had "Solomillo" and "Dorada... More

If you visit Menorca, and you want to eat a really good Calderata, and fresh fish, this is one of the best choices. It is located right on the Ciutadella's port, lovely place to have nice dinner

All fresh and tasty. Service good. Had to wait 35 min to seat but was worth it. The location is on the port of the ancient capital of menorca. Suggestive!

Menorca have several good restaurants (es Cranc and their memorable "Panadera de Llagosta" (a dish of lobster and patatoes you have to order in advance), es moli des Foc among others), but in my opinion, Cafe Balear is "my must" when I go Menorca every summer. It worth it to queu for 30-45 min to have a table outside and... More

... Called caldereta de langosta I think - one of the nicest things i have ever eater. OK, not cheap for a soupy stew thingy but getting flavour this good is a proper cooking process. Great fixed price menu too. Lovely surroundings down at the end of the marina. Have been here 3 times now and will continue to go... More
