Great seafood restaurant down by the seafront

Great restaurant for seafood when in Ciutadella. The good stuff. We really liked our food, and the outside seating. We shared sepia a la plancha as starter and later had arroz caldoso de pescado and a whole fish (can't remember the name) for mains. The food was really good and the portion... read more

We got this restaurant recommended by almost everyone we have spoken to and I am sorry to say I would never recommend this restaurant. The food is nice but not outstanding at all. The service is bad. The waiter hasn´t looked us in the eye once throughout taking the order, because he was CHECKING HIS FACEBOOK meanwhile. Apart from that... More

Exellent location in Ciutadella. Good seafood, Paella and Tapas dishes. During our 14 days summerholiday it is the best restaurant we had dinner on.

One of the most trendy location of Ciutadella. Good food, fresh fish, dinner directly on the Port. Be patient, always a lot of people is waiting for living this experience, especially in high season.

I would love to give this 5 stars, but we have definately eaten better meals in Ciutadella. The location is really lovely, located by the port it's a perfect place to sit on a lovely warm summers evening. The staff are very friendly but they seemed a little disorganised the evening we were there. We are more than happy to... More

Restaurant is very busy, but staff are friendly and welcoming. I had the very best sea food grill ever. I learned that the restaurant owners actually own the fishing boats, therefore, fish served couldn't be any fresher!

Dinner at the Port in Cuitadella was on our list of things to do when we visited as it's such a stunning location. Sadly, Cafe Balear, despite looking the business it didn't come up trumps. The food was average (we had had far better meals elsewhere), but the element that really let it down was the service. We had a... More

Great outdoor eating at Cafe Balear - delicious grilled prawns and my husband said the squid was fantastic. Prompt service good, but definitely moving us out quickly to get the next table in so we didn't feel we could linger. If you want an outside table get there early as they can't be booked.

The food is reasonably good but the service is dramatic. After we were given the menu 6 different waiters within a few minutes asked if we were ready to order. They sell the tables many timers per evening and they want to get rid of you as soon as possible.

This is in my opinion the best restaurant in Ciutadella and perhaps Minorca. The seafood comes largely from it's own boat and is spankingly fresh. The John Dory, Ciutadella prawns and lobster are examples of fish/shellfish at it's best. The Iberico Jamon de Bellota is consistently as good as it gets, kept perfectly and always served at the correct temperature... More
