This market is a great place to people watch. We were there on a Friday when there were crowds buying fish for dinner. We sat in the Sushi King restaurant and had a great view of the hustle and bustle over excellent sushi and a couple of glasses of wine. Well worth visiting when in Palma

After a renovation of the market hall Olivar a few years ago, you will find everything for food and beverage. Fresh fish, meat, fruits etc. with a huge variety. Also some small restaurants and bars for bits and bites. A must when you are in Palma.

Thoroughly recommend visiting this market. Just to see the vast array of food stuff for sale is worth it. We rolled up about 11.30 am for a late breakfast of Oysters and Champagne. Absolutely wonderful. We then perused the rest of the market and just enjoyed the total experience and charm of the place.

What can I say about this market. Its a fun place to just walk round until something catches your eye on one of the stalls, some meat to take home for dinner, some fish for the BBQ........ some cheese for later. I particularly love the variety of food stalls. If I cant think what restaurant to go to, I often... More

There is a bar at the back of the fish section that serves excellent mixed fried fish and seafood tapas. Add a glass of wine or two and you have lunch for about 20 euros

Yet another great example of how the Spanish are able to do the simple things like selling fish and meat in a way that is utter entertainment. The quality and range of the fresh produce was exceptional, just a pity I didn't have time to stay there for long and sample a glass of vino to wash it all down.... More

Mercado del Olivar is a great place to buy fresh meat, seafood/fish, and vegetables if you're self-catering. However, you can opt for a late breakfast or light lunch at one of the tapas bars where you sit on a stool at the bar and can point to what you'd like to eat if you're Spanish is bad! Coffee is always... More
