first stop in San Sebastian

this was our first stop place as soon as we arrived to San Sebastian. First pincho of the day and of course, we asked for the "brocheta de gambas" (grilled shrimp). Paired with a "zurito" (half glass of lager beer), there is no better way to start your day!

We came here solely for the shrimp (gambas) pintxos and man, they did not disappoint. They were amazing and had to order multiple times. We also ordered some croquettes which were phenomenal too. The service was sub-par to be honest (even when it wasnt too packed) and the only server wasnt overly polite. The decor and atmosphere is a bit... More

The Gambas la Placha were so delicious! It's basically skewers of grilled shrimp on a piece of toast with an incredible salsa on top. We ordered one to share at first and then ordered several more! They were 2.50 euro for 5 shrimp per skewer. We also tried a chorizo bocadillo that was very good as well- different/better than Mexican... More

These skewers were such perfection. The shrimp were super fresh and perfectly cooked (I had shrimp skewers at several other venues and none were as good as these). We went in with plans to order a bunch of items, but ended up ordering 2-3 of these skewers per person. If you go early enough, it's not so packed.

No wonder this is at the top of the list of Trip. Excellent Tapas in old town. Don't choose from the bar. Ask the owner what is their recommendation or tapa of the day.. All beautiful and tasty

Prawn skewers melt in your mouth. It's a super hit. Few other pinxtos were good too. However it was a nightmare to understand the dishes given the language barrier

among all the tapas in old town san sebastian i've been to, this one was very tourist friendly because they have digital screens of menue with multiple languages and they even have photos to show you if you don't know the name but described it to them. good service and love the shrimp and squid dishes there.

The best shrimp ive ever had. If youre in donostia, get bruchetta de las gambas...or five. They are amazing. I always come here last because even if im stuffed from eating pintxos all day, theres always room for these gambas(thats shrimp by the way). You can thank me later;)
