Although the staff knew some of the regulars, they treated us as if we were one of the regulars too. They kindly guided us to the choices, and we ended up having a risotto with foie and a centollo (type of crabfish) for starters and a tasty ventresca (the best part of the bonito) as main, for two people. For... More

We wandered into Ikaitz about 10 pm during our visit in San Sebastian. We were looking for a quiet restaurant and Ikaitz had nice reviews on yelp. We really enjoyed the 25 euros/pp including wine and it was so amazing. There were several selections and we tried many of them---all were delicious and so beautifully presented. The mushroom risotto was... More

This was a great find to get away from all the noisy bars and crowds walking around town It is located below street level ( access by walking down stairs or taking a lift ) and you'll find this "retreat" The staff were very friendly and helpful and more than happy to go through any menu selections. We're happy to... More

We had a booking for 8:30pm which was opening time . The restaurant was easily able to cater for our group of 10. There was a set menu for €30 which included wine which we didn't realise until after we ordered. There was also an al a carte menu as we'll. The food from both menus was fabulous. It was... More

The food was great, set mehu price very reasonable (a 25€/pp incl. wine) and service very nice. Atmosphere at the restaurant was good (except for the music which was cover songs played by a pan flute - baffling). Would definitely go again.

The restaurant didn't seem to have our booking which was made through Fork. They rather grudgingly allowed us a table but made it clear that they wanted it back. The food was perfectly decent but unexceptional and served extremely quickly. We felt rushed. When we asked for a coffee at the end of the meal they said that they needed... More

Pros: Value was exceptional (3 course with wine for 2 for €60) Most of the dishes were really nice Nice to have a sit down alternative to the pintxo bars Cons: small portions atmosphere was lacking (we were there Friday from 830pm till 10:30pm and it was 1/4 to 1/3 the whole time) some of the dishes were lacking in... There's this little elevator at the street level that smells of disinfectant. It is our introduction to Ikaitz. I don't feel like going 'down there' but my husband coaxes me into taking a peek. So we descend and exit the elevator into a charming, well lit basement restaurant. Some of the walls expose the original masonry of the building. The... More

We had a very special dinner here with our family. The service was perfect and the food was delicious. We had the set menu, which for 25 euro including wine was an absolute bargain! Don't expect Michelin star or anything but do expect great local food at an affordable price
