I visited this restaurant just after it had reopened in mid March. My girlfriend was on her university year abroad and based in nearby Vitoria-Gasteiz. We decided to try one of San Sebastian's famous Michelin restaurants. We did initially look at Arzak, although ended up deciding to go here. And what an excellent choice it was. From the moment we... I really enjoyed this restaurant and would recommend it to anyone who is interested in gourmet food with a twist. Every dish I had was excellent (all 10 of them). My only complaint is that the food came out pretty fast so it seemed a little rushed. This restaurant is very expensive, of course you know that when you reserve.... More

I have been to a number of Michelin Star restaurants around the world. In general, I prefer delicious unique food in a casual setting. At first glance, I wasn't sure I had made the right choice in selecting this restaurant for my San Sebastián splurge. It is located outside of town in sort of an odd setting. You drive through... Food is wonderful. Service is impeccable. Accommodating to people with allergies, etc. You have to drive to get there. It is outside of the city.

Have visited many michelin star restaurants mainly in UK and this has to be the best yet. Don't usually post on TA but just had too this time. The ingredients and combined flavours were amazing, still thinking how the Chef has managed to pull together such subtle but great tasting food. Great service and superb setting having lunch on the... More

The restaurant is situated outside San Sebastian, but only a short taxi ride away. The setting is nice, especially if the weather allows dining outside (as we did), although not as spectacular as Akelare. We went for the grand tasting menu, as everybody else did and ordered a fantastic white Rioja we then tracked down and bought in larger quantities... More

I was fortunate enough to go with three people so I got to try a bit of everything really. I recommend the steak for the main or the fish. The chef is a genius when it comes to combining flavors and those two dishes really did something for me. The pigeon wasn't bad at all but my sister didn't like... More

We dined at Martin Berasategui in May in celebration of my wife's 50th birthday. Being foodies and having dined at several michelin star restaurants in the past we wondered if a 3 star restaurant could really be noticeably better than say a 1 star. Without a doubt it was! We had the 12 course tasting menu with wines. It was... More

Loved this restaurant. Visiting San Sebastián while on SW France holiday, family including our 10 year old and 5 year old niece. Of course the food was extraordinary, the service perfect, but the point of my review, is how lovely everyone was to our party of 6 of whom 2 were well behaved children. We had and incredible lunch experience,... More

The culinary tour of the Basque Country continues. This place is of the same caliber as Mugaritz but is completely different. MB is much more formal with white gloved waiters and a reverence that is almost religious. The grand tasting menu consists of courses that have enjoyed acclaim and are designated by the year of the dish's creation. Some reviews... More
