Creative cusine, excellent service and ambiance, at a uphill location with areal views

Well deserving of its Michelin stars, this high-end fine dining restaurant has delicious, creative menu with beautiful presentation and well -selected wine pairing. The service and the ambiance was exceptional, and so were the views.

This is our second visit to a 3-Michelin star restaurant. We were looking forward to a gastronomic adventure after reading such good reviews. To start with, we were impressed with the location of the restaurant. Perched on a hill, it commanded lovely views. The hostess brought us in and seated us. One thing we noticed was how close the tables... More

Fantastic experience - one of my all-time favorite dining adventures. I went to Akelare (solo) as part of a Michelin star-driven bucket list journey through the Basque Country. I'd have to say that this was one of my favorite restaurant experiences ever. First, the restaurant setting is beautiful - it's up on a bluff overlooking the Bay of Biscay and,... More

One of many memorable 3 michelin star lunches. Stunning views on a rainy day with the sky and ocean blurring into shades of blue and grey. Unfailingly friendly staff for whom combining courses on the degustation menu and a la carte menu was no problem at all (not always the case in 3 star France, Japan and the USA). A... More

Absolutely shocked. This was the worst meal I've had out of hundreds of fine dining experiences and top 5 for any dinner ever. When we told them how disappointed we were they just seemed keen to get us out the door as quickly as possible. They didn't offer us any discount on the 500 Euro bill or let us speak... More

What a horrendous experience. Quite honestly - disinterested staff - terrible food - how come this gets stars - the bill of 400 Euros for two - outrageous - simply speechless at how they get away with it.

Our lunch here left an indelible memory for my husband, myself and our then 10 yr old daughter. Amazing views and exquisite food. My daughter was in heaven with her 'Grouper Umami' and loved the new Potato Souffle (the wait staff was so sweet to provide her with a second helping). My husband and I had the 'Aranori' menu (The... 3 prefix menus to choose from each costing a kings ransom. No wine pairings, but affordable great wines from every corner of the globe are available. Each dish is invented, crafted and sculpted. 90% of each dish was an amazing experience. Food looked like art. Some were wild surprises that looked like something completely different than the ingredients. However, there... More

Simple and effective, lacking superfluos performance that is sadly common on 3* restaurants, Pedro delivers to perfection without nonsense. Service is great, atmo is great. Wine list is as big as is reasonably priced. A truly enjoyable experience from beginning to end.

Wonderful tasting menu by a three star chef in a setting with an unparalled sea view. Outstanding service.
