We had lunch at this steakhouse on the recommendation of a local friend. The atmosphere is old school, nothing trendy or fancy, just some hams hanging from the ceiling. The servers are not especially sophisticated or suave, but helpful, friendly and efficient. But the ribeye steaks are to die for, unbelievably tender and delicious. They have an interesting way of... This is great place for tapas and wine. We especially liked the calamaris and the codfish. Great wines and very cheap. Wonderful atmosphere

We did the sit down route because we had been walking all morning. We were there for lunch and had seafood salad and wine. The food was very good and the service was excellent. We looked at the pintxos and they looked beuatiful. This is a good place in the old town to enjoy the ambience, service, and food.

Located near the basilica of Santa Maria del Coro the Taberna serves Pintxos and drinks as well as a restaurant menu. We were eating late afternoon before taking the train back to Zumaia along the coast. Due to time constraint we chose to eat at the Pintxos Bar. Food was delicious and the service was good as was the value.

This Pintxos Bar, Restaurant and Taverna was another highlight of our trip to San Sebastian. On the first evening we were served and looked after by a very agreeable waiter, who, very astutely restricted us to two starters after we had ordered our main dishes, telling us we could not manage to eat all. The food was very good and... More

We loved the pintxos so much here after the first night we booked a table to dine in the restaurant for the following night! It's busy and bustling inside so you will need to fight to get to the bar to order your pintxos, but it's worth it! As for the restaurant, YUM! My husband had an enormous steak, and... More

You must book the previous week before if you want to be sure you don't miss the chance to get inside the restaurant. Some friends had fish and were happy about it..I had the nice jiucy steak and it is one of the best I have had. And we were all happy on our wine choice. Will repeat for sure.

Booked online before holidays and forgot time - turned up a bit late and they were fine about it, even though the place was mobbed out front in the bar. Had a lovely seafood bisque and wife had a hard goat's cheese with pistachios/walnuts/herb sauce - both fantastic! Had the fancier Naiades Verdejo, which was lovely - wife had a... More

Gandarias was our first Pintxos experience in San Sebastian--and we went back every day! We did not eat in the restaurant but just sampled the pintxos at the bar. Now, I will say this place is CROWDED. So, don't go if you don't want to deal with a busy bar--not going to lie, at first I was a bit annoyed.... More
