Place to taste just made pintxo

This place was recommended me by my local friends as a must to visit in San Sebastian. The bar has not trays with ready pintxos (as everywhere in San Sebastian) and cook them after order. It's a guarantee that you will get fresh food. I ate roasted octopus and it was delicious. The place was over... read more

I could never understand the hype with this place but it is always serves consistent, high quality pintxos and often changes the menu. Definitely one of the best pintxos bars in San Sebastian.

We had know idea what we were ordering as their English wasn't great and we couldn't speak spanish - but that didnt really matter as the sign language worked well and even if we didnt get what we ordered - who cared because it was delicious!! Cruisy, laid back place with the best Sangria going around! We went back twice... More

If you only try one bar in SS, make it this one. We tried a traditional bar for a few tapas first which was just fine, but this was our second and we didn't leave. A very good Rioja with the best Pinxto we've ever tasted. Nine dishes and not one that wasn't a wow! Your supposed to go from... More

Rammed full of people at all hours, for good reason. Everything on the menu was outstanding, save perhaps the tripe which in some preparations can be an acquired taste. It is not always usual to have a meal in just one bar, but this is the exception, as you just have to try each item on the menu (particularly the... More

Borda Berri is a must! It was very crowded and after trying the food we knew exactly why! We will be returning to San Sebastian to eat here again! We had the risotto (twice), goat cheese, beef cheeks, octopus and the duck.

We tried in vain to sample the tapas at Borda Berri for two consecutive nights but it was closed on both nights but finally got to go third time lucky. And we were not disappointed. The highlight was the pig's ears which were so delicious we went back a second time. The other tapas on offer (such as the veal)... More

The placer doesn't look very good, but the Basque don't seem to care much about looks when chosing a good restaurant. The best places don't stand out visually. Barda Berri neither, the personell isn't very friendly either, but that's normal here. The food is very exciting though. There is no bad foood in San Sebastian. I like to make my... More

These were probably the best pintxos we had while in San Sebastian, made by order and served hot, and all the dishes we tried were very good. The place was crowded to the extreme, but the food was worth it.
